Wedding Picture Gifts

October 11th, 2007 @ 12:55 pm by Mrs. Butterscotch

My dad raised me with the help of my grandma, and I was the only child in the house growing up. The person I am today is because of them. My dad is so supportive in every way, he was more than happy to make sure we had the wedding that we really wanted.

So here is my dilemma. My dad’s birthday is coming up. I asked myself this question: what do I get the man that never asks for more than new socks? Originally I didn’t want to give our wedding pictures as gifts. I know you can do a million things with photos these days! You can put them on cards, blankets, purses or even a puzzle! But I think I have the perfect gift.

I have blown this photo up to 8×10 in metallic printing process. I was going to do a nice frame with it also. This was taken right after we came into our reception and I was thanking my dad for well… everything! So far I have managed to give my dad the run around on my pictures - thank goodness his birthday is next week, I don’t think I can keep coming up with excuses! The gift is simple but I know he will love it. What do you think, good gift?

Are you planning on doing something unique with your pictures after your wedding?

That’s a really sweet picture. The ones of me and my dad at my wedding aren’t quite as good– the angle wasn’t right, or the expression, but yours looks perfect.

As for unique things to do with pictures, I don’t know. We’re going to make copies of our flushmount album using blurb.com for our parents and close relatives, but that’s about it. We’ll probably make customized DVD covers for our wedding video, too…

I think the photographer captured a great moment. The look on your face shows how much you love him and how thankful you are he was there. I think it’s a good gift.

We wanted to do the whole Christmas card thing, but it just never happened. The only other thing I did was get a small 24 pictures cloth-covered album for my maid of honor. It matched the box of goodies I had collected for a year prior to the wedding. I filled the album with pictures of her and us from my day, and she loved it. It was definitely a good sisters moment.

that is such a beautiful picture. I can feel my eyes watering up and my nose turning red.

I am still trying to figure out how i’m going to make it through my wedding day without smearing all my make up. The father-daughter dance is going to get to me..

Anyway, i think your dad will LOVE it.

I have leftover pocketfolds and envelopes from the invitations, so rather than paying who-knows-what to have photo cards printed, I can get 15-cent photos and stick them on where the invitation had been.
