Say Yes To The Dress

October 12th, 2007 @ 5:28 pm by Mrs. Bee

If you’re gonna be home tonight like I am, you may want to catch the premiere of TLC’s new show Say Yes To The Dress which follows Kleinfeld specialists helping brides find the perfect wedding dress. It’s a new twist on wedding shows already out there, so it may be a lot of fun!

Thank you so much for the reminder! I was very excited when I saw previews for this last week when I watched the latest Fashion Fanatic.

I think that, hands down, my fave part about finally being a bride (besides the awesome future hubby, of course!) is all the dress fun that comes with it.

Now, the search for the perfect shoes is another story entirely…

Haha, Bee I know what you mean. I tivo all the crap Mr. Chickadee refuses to watch with me and then watch it all day long while he’s at work.

Too funny! I was at Kleinfeld’s over the summer, and they were filming and asked if I wanted to be on–as I was walking out at the end of my appointment. But at that time they were calling it “Kleinfeld’s: Unveiled”.

O.k. just finished watching…this show will be very addicting, haha. I’m hooked.
Initial thoughts—with the exception of one dress I was very underwhelmed with the dresses they chose…I just wasn’t blown away by anything. Especially since they have 1,700 dresses to chose from I just didn’t think they brought out much that you couldn’t find at any other bridal store…and most of the brides only got to try on 3 or 4 dresses so what’s the point of having 1,700 to chose from? I guess I was expecting to see something amazing cause it’s “Kleinfelds.”

I liked that they featured brides with a wide range of budget.

And I liked the grandmother that got all teary.

Finally, I really don’t get what’s so bad about letting friends/family walk the floor and pick out styles you might like…they know you, afterall, so they might be able to pick something the salesperson can’t. As long as they keep you budget within mind. I really liked the stores where I got to go into the back or walk the floor and look at anything I wanted to.

I should have watched this - I just bought my dress today!! Although it wasn’t at Kleinfelds. I can’t afford that. :)

I went to Kleinfeld’s on Saturday and I have to say I agree with BaghdadBride about them choosing your dresses, I hardly liked anything they picked for me :( Back to the drawing board!
