About Mrs. Kiwi

Aw, Now You Have Two!

October 15th, 2007 @ 6:23 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

At last, my dad and I have decided on two songs for the father/daughter dance. We’re not sure which one to choose, as both are beautiful classics.

My Girl by The Temptations

Stand By Me by Ben E. King

I love my dad very much, and have always been his special girl. We hang out on the weekends and see each other a few times a week. I think that’s why I have such a hard time choosing a song. The good things about these songs are the length. Not too long at all!

Which one do you like?

my girl gets my vote.

Hhmmm…..My Girl is the song my mom would sing to me, and Stand By Me is the song my guy sings to me, so for a parental feel, I’d say My girl.

I just read the lyrics to both, and my vote goes to My Girl!

I like how both are a little more “upbeat” than a typical slow song.

Mrs. Butterscotch says:

My girl is much more up tempo. Does your dad know how to cut a rug?

8.
L says:

I like “My Girl” too. It’s cuter! =)

My Girl is a great song to get everybody dancing, so maybe save it for when you want everybody to get up and on their feet?
I’ve never seen a song get so many people out on the floor.

I was thinking of My Girl too! Either that or The Way You Look Tonight. Reminds me of Father of the Bride. My dad’s pretty similar to the Steve Martin character. Not crazy, but hopelessly in love with his family.

bearbride says:

My Girl. It’s the one I’m using. I just love the opening lyrics.

tanya2s says:

Ditto on My Girl. It’s a bit faster than Stand By Me, and there’s room for a few twirls or fun stuff if you and your dad want to mug for the audience a little.

Cami says:

My dad and I are using My Girl so that’s my vote!

molly says:

I’m another My Girl girl this coming May… I say go for it!
