This past weekend, my MOH, little sister and I made a bee-line to the bridal salon where I purchased my wedding gown so they could make their selections for BM and MOH dresses. (Mr. Petunia has a “Woman of Honor” who will need a dress, too, but as she kindly told me that she would wear whatever I put her in, regardless of it being a potato sack, give or take, I figured I’d take the choosy shoppers out first. Plus she lives in NYC, too).
My MOH encountered some difficulties, which I will blog about in the future when she does find a dress that doesn’t suck (suffice it to say that the world is not exactly kind to anyone who is not a sample size 10 or smaller: she underwent gastric bypass surgery 6 months ago or so and has lost 100 pounds already — woot! — and she just needs a bit more time to find just the right one for her).
Because the girls are not one-size fits all, nor all of one taste, I was fine with their not wearing the same exact dress, but I was a bit bossy about the dresses at least being made by the same designer and being in the same color. I chose Watters & Watters dresses (my MOH and I have been in love with their dresses since long before there was even a Mr. Petunia), in Dupioni silk (same fabric as my dress), and preferably knee-length.
Because the girls resisted a bright fuchsia color, I was not a fan of baby pink, and all other Watters shades of pink were not exactly right, I made the decision to go with their green color Midori:

My sister had a bit of an… interesting time with the dresses…it took her some time to use her imagination and get around their being a few sizes too big and way too long on her teeny short self. She would have liked this first one she tried on (Style #7499) if the sleeves fell more around the upper arms, rather than rest atop them.

I assumed she would have loved Style #5480, pictured below, since the whole time we went shopping for my wedding gown, she kept going on and on about halter tops, but nope — she wasn’t crazy about it.
She’s getting more into here, with Style #9460, but she’s not completely sold:

Style #8464, below, is quite similar to the red dress above, but it’s actually a two piece. My little sis preferred this one (it didn’t have a ribbon in the back), and it does this really cute knot thing up front. So close!

However, there was another dress that won out (Style #7464)! The girl was sold when she saw that it made her boobies look bigger!

The dress can be ordered in two-tones or all in one shade. We all agreed that the second tone, with the ribbon, etc., is probably what adds to the dress’s cuteness, but sadly, there isn’t a second complimentary green tone to go with it, so we’re going to have to get the dress in the solid green color. I think it will still be adorable though! Here’s a sample pic:

I can’t wait for her to see herself in it once the dress has had all its alterations done– she’s going to look super duper cute!
