Mr. Onion and I drove from New York to Burlington, VT (6+ hours) the Thursday before our Saturday wedding. This way we had time to get our errands done and relax for the rest of the weekend. After we ran around on Thursday we took some time to rest at the Willard Street Inn before going out to dinner at our favorite French restaurant in town — Leunigs Bistro. This is when we decided to exchange gifts. I gave him a nice album with my “intime” photos taken by Tony Yang and he gave me a journal.
But this was a very special journal.
The instructions inside told me, whenever I needed to be reminded of how much he loved me, to “submit a request” and the journal would be returned in 24 hours with “a recording of [his] hearts essence.” He’s such a romantic and I LOVE him!
It’s the gift of love that keeps on giving! All I have to do is ask and I get a poem or just his thoughts about why and how he loves me at that moment.

That is such a beautiful idea…major points for Mr. Onion. When my guy and I were first dating, I wrote down all the wonderful things we would tell each other and how great they made me feel. Every now and then I go back and look at them and remember how thrilling it was to hear them for the first time.

This is so, so sweet. I love it. Best wedding present I’ve heard of.
Aww…The most meaningful thing that my fiance gave me was a cow. Scratch that… The most meaningful thing that he gave me was the choice to name a newborn calf. But for a farmer who doesn’t name animals because it means they become pets and you can’t sell them, it was a pretty wonderful thing to do.
That is absolutely wonderful - and I may steal the idea as part of the gift for my own fiance! 
And I just read about your intimate photos and I want to steal that idea as well. I’m sorry for stealing, but those are just great great ideas! That’s why I love this board.
