About Mrs. Gummi Bear

It Almost Didn’t Happen

October 18th, 2007 @ 10:31 am by Mrs. Gummi Bear

It’s true. If you are in Northern California, the rain on Friday was pouring! We had to be begged to come out through tears and the possibility of rain cancellation, traffic, heavy rain… probably the most convincing part was listening to our coordinator roll around on the lawn to prove that if we had mats and blankets, the rain wouldn’t soak through, so we COULD have our lawn games.

Well, that and Mr. GB bought me these to cheer me up:

 pKS1-36

After two hours of driving and frustration, we arrived as the rain was stopping. We unpacked, decompressed, then headed to our hotel with four of our friends to begin the last minute cookie crafting. I love them. After several hours with some of my favorite people, we were rolling around on the ground in good spirits, knowing that even if it poured, at least we’d have been talking about the two momo’s (that’s our loving nickname for our mormon friends) competition of bow tying cookies faster than the 4 of us combined!!!! After threats and growling, we had 400 cookies wrapped and ready to go!

So how did it end up? Well, we don’t have our professional photos for another two months, but we have proof from a few snaps here and there.
1609143

With that… what do you want to hear about during that 2 months of waiting for my real photos? I don’t want to dry up into a shriveled blogless prune for two months! Is there anything you’d like to hear about the planning that I didn’t cover that you’ve been DYING to know about? Or details about the day? Or about my WILD adventure with two manicures in a day?!

Or should I just stuff a sock in it?

Ooo! Ooo! FI and I want to know how the GBA/PSP gaming rounds went. Did people synch up? Did it work? We’ve been toying with a similar idea for our combined bachelor/ette party. :) Congrats again!

Mrs. Onion

Do share more. What happened to the first round of painted nails?? I love all the umbrellas! How did you feel surrounded by all that love? And the games? How were the games. Mr. Onion bought a DS over a year ago and his best friend and his wife were so excited by it they went out and each bought one of their own so now all three of them can play. I might just have to get in on the action ;)

I am also waiting for my pro-pics (6-8 weeks…I’m down to 2-4) but couldn’t wait so I’ve posted with lots of non-pro pics in the mean time. Do that — it’s more fun!

Did you end up doing anything korean on your wedding (eg. letting your parents throw nuts at you…etc)? And yes - tell us more on the details of your day!

And I’m just a imagining your coordinator rolling around on the ground….hahahaha.

Oh, and did you get an online gallery for your pics?

I am so glad that it went well! I can’t wait to see more photos, but you have some really beautiful ones here. It kind of reminds me of Jane Austen, with picnics on the lawn. Looking at that sunshine, I can’t believe that it was pouring the day before!

oh gosh, the boots! They’re Kate Spade Wellies! If you order them online, know that they run large! I’m a size 6.5 (leaning more towards a 6 than a 7 if in whole sizes) and I bought size 5!! Anyway, they’re all muddy and awesome from Friday squicking in the mud. Call around, they were sold out in smaller sizes all over SF, but we got a pair shipped from LA overnight!

I’ll definitely write about my manicure disaster and some vendor reviews when we iron out those… err hiccups. Although, I may have to post a flower review without pro photos because I have been dying to talk about it, but haven’t had a chance to!

Mrs Onion: I guess 2 months is standard, but it hadn’t occurred to me how agonizing the wait would be! I’m planning on mini-trips to keep me occupied… and homewares shopping. retail therapy.

You were SO SO SO Lucky with the weather! I’m sure god would have not appreciated your wrath had it rained on Sat. hahaha. But seriously, I was on the 101 on Friday, Hydroplaned, and almost killed myself and my FILs…that wouldnt have gone over well. Right after i realized that I was still alive, I thought of you and the horrendous weather.

Give us more pictures. something. ANYTHING.

I love reading your posts, I don’t care what they are about!! We’re in Northern Cali too, Humboldt County, and it’s crazy rain here. I would love to see any pictures that anyone took–they don’t have to be professionals!!

Here’s something funny: I had a MoMoh at my wedding. Mormon Maid of Honor. She was very pleased with her title!

my house! it’s such a mess I couldn’t post photos. :D

The games, I need a photo of everyone playing. People were up and blaying the lawn games, crowding onto blankets to play board games, and all through the meal people were popping our their DS for a little mario kart/tetris/zelda action between courses. As an alternative to dancing? It was A+

hi! nope, they’re just regular branches - we put the flowers on them. We don’t have more pictures yet, sorry, I hope the professional photos have some good ones!

You can drive by my house all creepy and throw gummibears at the windows. “I know where you live….”
