Beach Wedding/Honeymoon Must Haves!

October 21st, 2007 @ 11:21 am by Mrs. Lovebird

One of the biggest worries when it comes to having a beach wedding is footwear! Heels and sand just doesn’t mix. During my research, I came across these and fell in love.

Wouldn’t they be perfect for your honeymoon?? Most of the time, they offer them in white for the brides and black for the grooms.

But, you can also get them in other fun colors.

But then I thought, it would be weird walking down the aisle with them since I wouldn’t technically be “married” until after the ceremony. I guess I could just tape an index card to the bottom and then rip the cards off after the ceremony. Or maybe I’ll just save them for after the ceremony and change into them. Either way, they are perfect for the honeymoon!

These would also be great for a beach wedding or honeymoon.

I bought matching pairs of the first pair pictured for our photoshoot at the beach after the wedding. While it made for some good pictures, they were REALLY uncomfortable. My husband threw them away right after the photo shoot and I left them in the hotel as we left for our honeymoon.

If they are uncomfortable, you can try to add the strappies from footpetals (http://www.footpetals.com/cgi-bin/footpetals/prod.html?mv_arg=Strappy%20Strips).

You can change into them after your wedding when you take some beach shots. It’ll look so cute!

My bridesmaids got me a pair of the white flip flops in your first picture… I was so excited to wear them on the beach for our honeymoon… and they didn’t “work!” I tried numerous times, but couldn’t get the indentation in the sand. :( I just wanted to give you a heads up in case you end up getting some.

My husband and I also bought matching pairs of the shoes displayed in the first picture, and were were very comfortable wearing them all around during our honeymoon. In addition, we also got some great pictures of the indentations that we left in the sand. I would highly recommend them!

I think it would be cute to wear “wedding shoes” (flats perhaps?) down the aisle and then after the kiss, change into the flip flops before walking back up the aisle. =) Just the act of you making the effort to change into the flip flops because it’s something you’re excited about makes it so cute to watch for a guest.
