A Robot To Call Our Own

October 23rd, 2007 @ 2:14 pm by Mrs. Peppermint

My mom, Aunt, Grandma and sister had wanted to take me out to lunch as an informal shower. I had thought there would be no gift exchange (and didn’t want anyone to feel like they needed to get me anything–I was just happy to go out for lunch!) But I must say, I was really excited when I saw a big package waiting for me to unwrap it…And even more excited when I saw this inside it…

A Robot To Call Our Own : wedding palm springs registry Roomba

They had all pitched in to get me my very own ROOMBA!!! That’s right, folks. I have a robot that vacuums my apartment. Even with all the wedding-planning-stress, I can’t help but be elated. My apartment already feels better and who doesn’t like coming home to their own robot?

Mr. Peppermint & I had been talking about how we wanted one for a long time and had almost put it on our registry. Now that the day has come, our most pressing task awaits…what do we name it?!?

Any name suggestions, ladies?

Also, what off-the-beaten-track items do you have on your registry??

That so great! Congratulations! We have a puppy on our registry (or I guess I should say a fund for the puppy we’re wanting to add to our family after our honeymoon).

How about “ideal” as in the ideal husband or wife, who cleans all the time? Either that or Albert because whomever invented the Roomba is a genius.

What an amazing cleaning tool to have. OK — now I have to know — does it do a great job?? I vote for Roger the Roomba!

We have a roomba on our registry! His name will be Robby. And we will dress him up next year for Halloween -

I don’t want to get a pet, so this is the closest that FI is going to get to having a furry little creature follow him around :-)

My husband gave me a scooba (floor washing robot) on our wedding night… how romantic! I love it! It is a great timesaver.

Steve. It’s what I named my ipod (long story).

If you got into 33, I want to know all about it too. When we went to Disneyland this summer there was a couple who had been given tickets from a member. They were denied entrance though because they weren’t the original ticket-holders. We got out pictures in front of the door and checked out Snopes, but I’m still curious.

We have one and we love it, especially on tile & wood floors since it’s such a pain to sweep and mop. I vote for Higgins!!

My husband surprised me with one after we moved into our way too big house. He gets used all the time and his name is Scooter. :)

We registered for a Dyson vacuum, and I thought it would remain on the registry un-purchased. But someone was overly generous and purchased it for us- and we LOVE it. It works so much better than our old vacuum :)

First of all, we registered for a Roomba, and I am crossing my fingers that we get it! I also think Jeeves would be a great name!

Second of all, I would love to hear if you got into Club 33!

Heck, I want a maid - the Roomba would be such a tease!

Enjoy though - keep us posted if you feel it’s done a great job.
