Venue Spotlight: Meson Sabika

October 25th, 2007 @ 2:26 pm by Mrs. Jasmine

Recently Mr. Jasmine and I visited his best friend and his best friend’s fiancee in Naperville. They took us to a fabulous tapas restaurant called Meson Sabika. Located in a beautifully restored 1840s mansion with lush furnishings, Meson Sabika features delicious and inventive Spanish tapas and Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant recently built a gorgeous adjoining pavilion especially for wedding receptions! I decided to go on another information expedition for my Chicago brides-to-bee (sorry, I never get tired of that joke).

The Pavilion, which seats 330 people, is a fully-enclosed site with the feel of an outdoor venue. It features 11 crystal-cut chandeliers and large windows that overlook beautifully green landscaping. The Pavilion has a rental fee of $14 per person for Saturdays and $13 per person for Fridays or Sundays. There is no tax or gratuity added to those fees. You pre-select a menu of your choice from numerous delicious options , all including an open bar and your choice of tapas. Your food and beverage total must reach a minimum of $6500 for Fridays, $7500 for Saturdays, and $5000 for Sundays. Tax is added on at 7.75% and gratuity is 19%.

You also have the option of having your reception in the mansion itself. To rent out the entire second floor, which seats no more than 150 people, there is a $5000 food and beverage minimum before tax and gratuitity. Rental fees are waived.

For those of you looking for a romantic, picturesque venue with delicious food, Meson Sabika is an option certainly worth exploring.

I’ve been there, a long time ago before the new pavillion was built. The food was great!!

I love, love, love Meson Sabika! When my MOH was getting married, it was on her short list, so I went with them to try the food. Best tapas I’ve ever had! If it was closer to downtown, I would have had my wedding there in a heartbeat.

This looks like a great place…I enjoy tapas a lot. I love that you research other venues for weddingbee readers! Being from Chicago myself, this is a great resource for me. Thanks!

Oh, why? WHY, can’t we have something like that in SoCal? A $7500 food and beverage minimum for Saturday and at a mansion? And it’s pretty? My heart aches. :-( The food and beverage minimum at my venue for Saturday is $15,000.

norcalbruin: as someone getting married in so cal, trust me, i feel your pain!!!

i think for this particular venue, the cost is probably lower due to the fact that is not right in downtown Chicago, but in a suburb. Still, it’s a very pretty, popular, and nice suburb, so it’s still a good deal.

Over 10 years ago, we had our pre-prom dinner there. It is a good restaurant, and they have revamped it nicely.

I saw this post when at work and I just now remembered to respond.

I live in Naperville and I am going to have to check that place out for dinner! I am not getting married in Naperville though, but rather Rockford, IL (both our hometowns).

But I love seeing Illinois information on here!
