09.08.07 - Getting Ready

I just love our wedding date… personally, I think it is just as cool as 07.07.07! 
It stormed the day before our wedding, so I was seriously worried about our outdoor ceremony. But apparently all my finger-crossing worked! I think I got less than 3 hours of shut-eye the night before… I was too excited to sleep so some of my out-of-town friends came to visit and we hung out in my hotel room until after 1 AM. Then I kept tossing and turning and at 6AM finally decided that I couldn’t take it anymore and got out of bed. I woke my sister, who was staying with me, up at 6:30, but she was a good sport about it as she was excited too! We waited until 8 AM before we went down to the hotel restaurant for breakfast with my friend K, visiting from England (the lone redhead in my pictures).
Finally, at 10:30 my wedding party arrived along with our hair stylist. Time to get hot! Unfortunately, my makeup artist got lost and was over an hour late, so I wasn’t sure if she would even make it! She found the hotel eventually and everything worked out *phew*

Watching my 16 year old sister get primped. Initially she didn’t want me to spend extra money to have her hair done, but I insisted that it was worth it!

The dress
I brought my 22 year old teddy bear with me… I couldn’t leave him behind on such a momentous occassion!
I did my mom’s makeup. She didn’t trust anyone else to do her face!

“Suck in!” (I shouldn’t have eaten that extra piece of tiramisu at the rehearal dinner…)

Along with my pack of tissues and a note, “Please put the tissues in your pocket! I think I will need them later!”

That was my wedding day too in Chicago. Wasn’t the most beautiful day ever? We could not have asked for better weather! I absolutely love my outdoor pictures!!! Oh… and I love the date too!!!

Dahlia, I got my red NINA shoes at DSW, but back in the spring… I can’t remember what the style number is and I tossed the box =/ But Nina is a good bet for red shoes! They always have new styles coming in!!
