About Mrs. Gummi Bear

I’ve Been Kissing High School Boys

October 31st, 2007 @ 4:20 pm by Mrs. Gummi Bear

This is my excuse for being vacant, I’m going to claim that my laziness and complete lack of posting is due to Mono*. It’s not because I’m in the post wedding lull. It’s not at all a depression based on having very few photos of the event. It’s because I’m too tired to do anything other than drag my slug-like body down the hall to pour myself a bowl of cocoa puffs…

I had PTWS (just like Mr. Monkey’s description) and had Mr. GB go into the garage and paint our placeholder dining room table’s legs. I say placeholder because we do intend to get something nice, but until we can, I couldn’t look at the plain legs and be satisifed… well, I had PTWS. Ask me now and I’ll sniff dirty socks and think “oh.. not so bad… I can wear these if only I can avoid laundry one more day…”

What’s that I see? Thank you cards. We’re on top of this, I swear. I did a whole 5! During our 3 days of activity, I managed to gocco our thank you cards and buy a few more just in case some of the gocco ones looked like our dogs did them. They did, actually, we’ve forced them into slave labor as well.

You can see by how unorganized the living room is that we’re starting to decay as humans. Note the Paper Source bag from the Fillmore store since we’re boycotting the Berkeley one. The Dreamcast, currently right side up, although it doesn’t play unless it’s upside down anymore… and the huge pile of dog toys.

I bought the two on the left from etsy! I adore etsy! We leeched the labeling idea from the most recent MS weddings. And my gocco cards, albeit amateur and less impressive than what the average toddler can do (again, I’m going to claim the dogs did it) is the pattern of our rug. Because I love our rug THAT MUCH.

I bet you were hoping for more photos of the wedding. Me too. Until then, I’m going to go back to pretending I’m dead and shaking my fist at xbox katamari. Why is this one so freakin’ hard?!

*I don’t have mono, nor have I been kissing high school boys. I’ve just been licking the rims of every used cup I see.

Mrs. GB: You always make me laugh! I love that shot of your dogs under the banner of cards. Too cute! I think your TY cards look great.

Are my eyes failing me or do one of your cards say “Thanks for nothing”? If so, who are you going to send those to?

Miss Canary: thanks! Yea, mr. gb actually got them to stop running around like crazy for a moment!

Miss Lovebird: they do! People we hate… I mean, friends with a VERY good sense of humor! :)

I LOVE your kitchen. Can I come and cook in it like I’m on food network? Where did you get those Thanks for Nothing cards? I have a friend I can send one too. :)

Ok, I’m gonna need to know where you got that rug. Stat.

(You crack me up, btw! And I, too, have very few photos of the event. The people who should have lots just got home two days ago, so is it ok/sane to start harassing them NOW to send me all the photos they have? I mean, I uploaded mine on Sunday night after the wedding…what is WRONG with these people that they can’t unload their photos from their cameras and send them to the bride so she can seeee theeeemmm???)

Miss your posts Mrs. GB! Love your kitchen - I would have painted my kitchen cabinets green and leave the walls white too only if I saw that picture earlier…! Then I think you are probably the only person on earth who could pull off with the peachy salmon wall color in your dining room - it looks gorgeous !

Miss Gummi Bear - the dogs are adorable and I’m totally obsessed with your rug (I’m trying to convince my husband that we NEED to buy that rug - he’s not quite there yet, but give me a few months!) and I think it rightfully deserves to be copied as the pattern for your thank you cards… which are absolutely lovely, by the way!

Oh, one more thing (because I haven’t fawned over you enough yet, right?) - love those “thanks for nothing” cards. I would crack up if I received one of those!

thanks everyone about my house! Before the wedding, it was the house - after th wedding, we’re back to the house. Now if only I could find the perfect sofa…

the rug is anthropologie! I should get kick-backs from them. :)

thanks for nothing cards - they are etsy from “paper stories”

faithsista: I agree! Three people obliged really quickly, but even our parents can’t be bothered to send us their photos! C’mon people, get with it!

Mrs BOP: I don’t have them, they are in cans in the garage unlabeled. I KNOW, stupid!!! I think they may have the little numbers on them, but they are all from Benjamin Moore, and if you ever are in town, you’re welcome to come over with a million of those paint cards and compare! I should probably do this myself just in case I need to touch up.

SBH: oh man, I suck so hard at the new one. I’m better at Mr.GB on those levels that have specific requirements since he’s too fast and all over the place, but otherwise, I’m slow and terrible. I’m jealous of your skills.

I still FEEL like a Miss! So it’s ok, I still freak myself out when I think of myself as a Mrs!

I think there’s a similar rug at CB2… it was recently on sale…

Mrs. GB, just wondering about the logistics of how you got the little “thank you” graphic on top of the rug pattern on your TY cards? Is that all gocco, or a sticker? I think they are lovely!

Your house would be a perfect entry for apartmenttherapy.com color contest. It just ended but you should consider entering next year and try to win cb2 stuff!

jen: he doesn’t seem to mind it at all. I haven’t told him about wanting to paint the entryway pink…

ocicats: it’s here :)

woah long link.

mtyf: it’s gocco! It’s two passes, one with the pattern and the word “thank you” and the other is just that brown border.

You shouldn’t be so self depricating about your Gocco skills…the cards are quite good. I liked the label idea from MS weddings as well…did you find the idea easy to execute?

I’ve been wanting to do the MS labels for our STD’s. I was going to do them in all white…but I like yours so much better. How did you do them? Where did you buy the labels?

actually, I made them up in photoshop, printed them, and cut them out manually on those full sheet label paper… I’m a glutton for punishment.
