Back From Seattle

November 1st, 2007 @ 12:33 pm by Mrs. Corn

The wedding was really lovely. I had never been to Seattle before and I loved, loved, loved it!!

The rehearsal dinner was held at Greenwood Square above Upper Crust Catering on Greenwood Ave in Seattle. I actually have no idea how they managed this, but as far as I know, the groom’s mom and maybe an aunt or two actually made all the food for the rehearsal dinner and basically just rented the space for the rehearsal dinner. The staff was very helpful and I thought it would be a great place for a bride on a budget. The hall is on the second floor, and the view out the windows of the square below is rather charming.

Here’s a shot of the programs from the ceremony:

The wedding reception was held at the Shilshole Bay Beach Club on Seaview Ave NW. There are two functions rooms there (that I could tell). One of them had a 30th high school reunion going on but we never really heard them… however we did share a bathroom with them. Something to be aware of if you are thinking of using the space.

The views were stunning and the food was really, really good. If you are looking for a place in Seattle, I thought the wedding there was a great time so I would recommend at least going to the Shilshole Bay Beach Club and giving it a look.

I love Seattle too (live in Victoria ;). Glad you enjoyed yourself and were able to see some of the sights- Pike Market - did you see any fish throwing?? And of course the Space Needle.

You got lucky! We had really nice weather last weekend in Seattle! It warms my heart to hear people say they like the city in which I live. And, trust me, we need the heartwarming come mid-Winter or so! :)

Oh I heart Seattle so much! On my first visit there (6 years ago) I put an offer on a condo on day 2 of my trip! Unfortunately the Seller went with a previous offer :( But, fast forward to 3 years later (now 3 years ago) when I met my FI . . . turns out his parents live in Seattle. Yay!! My FIL’s live there and I get to visit a few times a year :)

I love the elegance of the wedding cake, so beautiful!

Hey there, Mar. This actually wasn’t my wedding, it was Mr Corn’s cousin. They are currently on their honeymoon, but I am sure I can find out where the stamp came from once she gets back. It looked like they just printed it on cardstock and tied a ribbon around it. The tree seemed to be a separate stamp.

hope that helps.

I’m so glad you had a great time in Seattle! We are having our wedding at the SBBC also. If it’s alright with your friend, would you mind posting some pictures or emailing me a few? Pics from SBBC are so difficult to find online. (There are only a handful.)
