Sweet n’ Plushy

November 2nd, 2007 @ 6:35 pm by Mrs. Canary

While reading one of my favorite blogs, Toast and Tables, this morning, I discovered these lovely knit desserts from Pukashell Creative Designs.

{all images from etsy seller: pukashell}

How perfect for the onset of winter! It’s getting cold in New York and these are the perfect treat to warm my eyes and tummy (sort of!)

Otherwise, I think they’d make great gifts for the little ones attending the wedding or even cute bridesmaid gift add-ons.

Maybe I’m just mourning the passing of Halloween.

What do you do with them? Maybe I just love the real thing too much - biting into these and getting a mouth of wool would be a real disappointment. ;-)

Hi ricchi, I’m a lover of the “real thing” as well; however these knitted desserts are so sweet and adorable without the calories. I think they would make a great decorative element on the table - - - at a single place setting or mixed in with the real stuff! In addition, I think they make great parting favors for your guest.

Check out how knitted desserts look on a tablescape:

I saw these… and I found them so cute. But I too - don’t really know what they are for.

I’ve bought some patterns from this person before, and last Christmas she sent me a free cupcake pattern.

Check out her other adorable food patterns

If you crochet, I totally recommend getting stuff through her! She’s great!

I was intrigued by this idea, cause I love to crochet, and after searching the net I found this website: http://www.normalynn.info/index.html

This woman makes so many different versions of crocheted sweets as lavender sachets to benefit non-profits. Her website wasn’t clear on if you could order them from her (if you’re crochet-challenged) or if you had to actually shop at the boutiques and events she’s featured at. But she does have a few free patterns which provide some basic guidelines for those that may want to make them on their own.

You may be able to fill them with other things instead of a sachet as well… possibly a bag of M&Ms or candied almonds or some other sweet treat. Just thought this might help… I’m personally using this idea for Christmas as well as possibly my wedding now!

If you filled them up with sweets then they would be ok. You would get the most use out of them; a decorative element and something sweet inside to eat. They are cute…but…I think this is a trend I’ll pass up.

Thank you so much for the link love. Interesting comments…to answer a few questions. Some people collect my dessert collection, others purchase my patterns and I also carry dessert theme jewelry and children’s playtime sets. All handmade and gift wrapped. Stop by my online shop and a chat anytime!
