About Ms. Dahlia

The Soul Search Continues

November 2nd, 2007 @ 3:54 pm by Ms. Dahlia

I want to thank all of you who offered up opinions in my last shoe post. After much deliberation, and asking the opinions of my mom and Mr. Dahlia’s mom, I decided to return all of the shoes. The pair that most people liked (myself included), was the Charles David with a big bow on the front. Unfortunately for me, not only was the heel too high, but they were a half size too small. While the box said 10, the shoes said 9.5. I will say that endless has been an awesome - returns are free - I mailed the gigantic box of shoes on Saturday, and received an email today saying that my return has been processed.

So I went back to scouring the internet, and came up with some more possibilities. First, Mrs. Bee alerted me to the fact that Holly Dunlap, the designer famous for her sexy Hollywould line of shoes, has just launched a line at Target. And that collection includes the following shoe:

Hollywould Peep Toe Pumps in Red. $30. Which looks pretty similar to these, right?

Luichiny Pretty, $72.95. Or compare the $30 Hollywould for Target shoes to the Hollywould Gertrud which sells for $395.

The other red shoe possibilities I found are:

Nine West Jojus, $78.95

rsvp Katelyn, $64.95

rsvp Nelly
, $64.95

Kenneth Cole Reaction Get Rich, $82.95

I’d love to know which of the above shoes you like the best. :-)

(Also, as you may have noticed, most of them have a closed heel, which can be problematic for my narrow feet. So I’m still open for suggestions of gorgeous silk or satin red shoes that are $100 or less, with a heel that is 3.5″ or less and are available in size 10.)

I love either with the bows in the back. So unexpected and chic.

Why is it so hard to find shoes when you have an idea of what you want in mind?

I would definitely be spending time at TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshalls, and Steinmart - especially as the holidays approach. Seems they often have shoes that meet your criteria!!

I find all my ‘fun’ high heels there! I can justify buying them, even though I don’t wear often - because they are usually less than $50!

I agree - I love the Nine West’s look the best, and I also find their shoes very comfy. (I’m a 10M.)

i actually like the luichini pretty ones with the big floppy bow.

i just bought the CUTEST pair of red suede pumps with a little bow on the front from steven plus they make my feel look super small. =) unfortunately i can’t find them online…but they do have these, which are really cute too: http://www.stevemadden.com/FANCI-PURPLE-FA

but did you also know that you can design your own at stevemadden.com?

I actually vote for the last ones! I just got my wedding shoes last week and theyre the Kenneth Cole Reaction ‘Rags to Riches’ from Zappos. I got them in black (yes I’m wearing BLACK shoes for my wedding!) but theyre very comfortable-I feel like I could wear them for a while. I love the Reaction shoes in general-so it gets my vote!

I’m most drawn to the Nine West Jojus as well. They’re sexy and classy at the same time.

i bought the Nine West Jojus in teal… it turned out to be a much greener teal than i wanted. i was sad because they were so pretty and comfy. i found them to be the most comfortable peeptoes i’ve tried on b/c the front wasn’t stiff like most.

Definitely the Kenneth Coles - they look like they’d be the most comfy too. (not horribly high)

I really loved the joujous. They used to have them in a satin green. I’m on a frivolous search for them, but no luck. Green would is my color and I wanted them for my wedding shoes. I ordered some KC shoes on Zappos, and will be trying them on tomorrow. Good luck on the shoes

As for the nine west ones, 2 of my friends got them (brown, black) on sale for ~45 dollars.

Another vote for the Nine Wests– both for style and for the deep red color, which I believe you said was also the color of the BM dresses.

Second place to the Kenneth Coles.

My MOH bought the Nine West in black. She says that the knot really hurts her feet. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem or not. I did see them at my local Macy’s on clearance for $38 yesterday.

I really like the Hollywould pumps…great price too!

I just received a pair of red pumps I ordered from Nordstrom for $59, they are BP brand. I think they’re pretty cute, under 3 1/2 inches and peeptoe. They do have a closed back though.

I’m gonna be different and say the RSVP Nelly’s. I love them!

But, truthfully, I like all those shoes…

I LOVE the RSVP Nelly’s! I’ve been looking for peep toe heels just like that…but in black. I also like the first pair.

I like the Kenneth Cole best, then the Luchiny and the Nine West. Something about red satin gets my heart pumping.

I just got those shoes from Target, and I have to admit: they look like they cost $30. Those bows on the back seem to be made of cardboard. I shouldn’t be surprised–you get what you pay for–but I am sending them back.
