Scientific Discoveries

November 5th, 2007 @ 3:39 pm by Mrs. Bubblegum

There is one venue in particular that, were money not an object, I would love love LOVE to use.

I’m pretty sure that most little girls dream of having a “Mathematica” room at their wedding venue like I do… if that appeals to you, you’re in luck! Because the Boston Museum of ScienceScientific Discoveries : wedding exeter venues T02 does weddings! They can accommodate 25 to 4500 guests, and they are catered exclusively through Wolfgang Puck catering..

The Blue Wing
Scientific Discoveries : wedding exeter venues Gfs Blu
This is the central hall. There’s a 45-ft. T-Rex in one corner and an Apollo module floating overhead.

The Museum Cafe
Scientific Discoveries : wedding exeter venues Gfs Caf
Not a whole lot more to mention - it’s the museum cafe!

The Skyline Room
Scientific Discoveries : wedding exeter venues Gfs Sky
This room has panoramic views of the Charles River, Back Bay, Boston, and Cambridge.

There’s even an outdoor pavilion if you want to get married on the Charles. PLUS, you’d be married in Boston - home of the 2007 World Series Champions!!!!!! w00t!

If money were no object, what would your dream venue be?

i’d actually want a more low-key affair if we got married again, but if money were no object… a destination wedding in italy! the amalfi coast perhaps?

Logistics are more the problem with my dream ceremony location. We are both big outdoors people, and I would love to get married on top of Table Rock Mountain, the site of many camp adventures. With money as no object? Austria or Germany destination wedding!

Our dream place was Belle Mer in Newport RI….but WAY too expensive….we settled for another of their venues, Veronique! But if it were a destination wedding, either Italy or Greece….

I’d loooove to have my reception in the Museum of Natural History in Chicago - among the dino skeletons!

I REEEEEALLLY wanted to get married at the Franklin Institute science museum in Philadelphia (obviously, I am a scientist)… I think it would have fit within our budget, but the event coordinator continually blew off my calls — I must have called and e-mailed at least a dozen times over a month and I would get these wishy-washy answers in return, and I decided that she was not the type of person I wanted to deal with.
If money were no object, I would have gotten married in the Kimmel Center in Philly… home of the symphony and other performing arts groups, and it is BEAUTIFUL. We went to look at it, but it was WAY out of our price range to rent out the space. Absolutely breathtaking though!

A sunset ceremony overlooking the water in Santorini, Greece with my nearest and dearest. Did I mention we’d arrive by private jet?

We would get married in Ireland! I also really wanted to get married in front of this beautiful waterfall in the blue ridge mountains, but with DF’s mom having back problems and some older guests the brisk hike (read: tough as heck even for us “youngens”) would be too much for everyone.

In the center of the hotel la Quinta Real in Zacatecas, Mexico. It used to be a bullring, so the courtyard is surrounded by “seats” rising upward and during weddings they light a million candles on them so the whole place glows.

Destination wedding at Musha Cay in Bahamas… (rent my own private Caribbean Island….)

I got as close as possible- wedding at Round Hill Resort in Jamaica and I’m thrilled… but if I had absolutely no budget, I’d definitely have it on my own island.

I think if I could choose any location I’d have gone with the beautiful old Catholic church that my grandparents got married in. We always went there for midnight Mass on Christmas Eve when I was little and it was always so big and impressive compared to our little home church. However, it’s too far away and we’re not having a Catholic wedding, so it wasn’t really practical.

I guess if money were no issue, I’d like to get married at St. Mark’s in Venice because Venice is one of my favorite places in the world!

we loved the 33rd floor of the loews hotel in philadelphia… great modern building with gorgeous views…. and this beautiful blue tiled all glass patio… but it was WAY more expensive & in a less glorious part of center city… it would be so perfect for a 1930s themed glamourous wedding.

piperbenjamin — that’s where I’m getting married! I fell in LOVE with the views from the top floor, so we’re doing our ceremony up there. Black tie, art deco, clean lines — perfect venue. I agree, it’s quite pricey, but I definitely wanted something with a Philadelphia feel since I am not from, and have never lived, in the city (fiance’s home town) and all my family will be flying in… and the skyline sold me.

Wow, lots of destination weddings. Makes perfect sense - in this fantasy, we can fly all our guests out on our dime!!

dreambml, I’d love to hear how Veronique is. I was looking at the whole set of Longwood Events venues but just assumed they were out of my price range - but looks BEAUTIFUL!

Miss Bubblegum - it is definitely pricey, and it caused us to literally double our budget! But my parents said I deserve the wedding I want, thank god! I fell in love with it online, and once we saw it couldn’t say no. So we opted for April which is off season. SO far it is great. Excellent food, very helpful staff. We’ll see how the wedding goes!

Either a bunch of cottages on the Outer Banks or the George Aquarium in Atlanta. (I love the ocean!)

I had my dream venue for my September 2007 wedding, but if I had a 45 foot T-Rex available, I’d want it for a shower. Could dress it up with a veil or a bouquet.

*no bridezilla comments, please*

The groom’s parents immediately suggested the Chatham Bars Inn. Let’s do the math, shall we? The smallest wedding they’ll even touch, with the cheapest dinner options, in the least interesting room, for the shortest amount of time, in the off-season is $42,000.

Thanks, I’d rather have the cash.

Oh, and I would have totally had the ceremony in the Mathematica room, right by the giant Mobius strip. Did I mention I married an algebraic topologist?
