Letterpress Treats

November 6th, 2007 @ 10:59 am by Mrs. Jasmine

Before I got engaged, I didn’t even know what letterpress was. Now, a mere seven months later, I’m a changed woman. I’ve suddenly become a letterpress fanatic who will buy *anything* letterpressed, from thank you cards to calendars to coasters (I don’t bother actually using the coasters on my Ikea coffee table. I just scatter them about and admire their loveliness). There is something about the tactile quality and visual goodness of letterpress than I cannot get enough of!

I’ve been feeding my addiction by perusing Etsy for beautiful letterpress goods. Here are some of my current favorites:

They have some truly creative holiday cards, from the graphic to the generic:

My favorite guilty letterpress indulgence: coasters! These monogrammed coasters would make a lovely hostess gift and the love coasters would be a romantic touch for a cocktail reception.

A gorgeous letterpress print– if someone else doesn’t buy this, I might!

Of course, Etsy also features a vast selection of letterpressed notecards. I love this gift pack– these floral designs are so delightful and it’s always smart to have pretty cards on hand.

For your little cabbage– so romantic and cute!

The perfect notecards for my beloved bees :)

For the truly committed letterpress addict, a letterpress menstrual calendar:

I am in the same boat. I covet all things letterpressed now and have gone so far as to sacrifice parts of our wedding budget to get letterpressed invitations and ceremony programs.

I know its one of those silly things that people throw away, but it makes me happy!

It's lovely

OOH, another letterpress convert. It’s truly the most beautiful printing method. If you’re on a tight budget and can come up with your own layout, I would check out Mike at Superior Letterpress (www.superiorletterpress.com). Great quality and really good service.
