Rainbow Brite

I’m a fan of color and I love seeing engagement rings or wedding rings different than what we generally fancy. We tend to think beautiful rings in wedding magazines have prices that are over the top, but all the rings and earrings shown below come from Costco.com, with prices ranging from $268 to $6000.

So why not be different… opt for a gemstone ring. I don’t have a colored ring, but I would love to someday!

I’m getting a colored stone wedding band. I realized I don’t like the look of two rings on one finger, so why buy something that I know won’t enjoy? I’m getting a ring for the other hand because I know I’m going to want a colored stone down the line anyway.

It’s a slate blue aquamarine one smaller pink sapphire on each side, and tiny pave diamonds around everything and 2/3 way around the white gold band. Delicate, feminine, colorful, unique, and relatively inexpensive!

I would be careful with Costco though. Those photos are pretty, but many of their rings are quite gaudy in person. The workmanship is just not refined.

I have a purple sapphire w/ small diamonds (from Shane Co) and I love it! It’s fun to have something different, plus the color changes drastically based on the lighting (he picked it out all by himself & did a great job :-)

I have a princess-cut peridot with diamonds on the sides. I love that my ring is different than most! People are constantly asking about my unusual apple green colored stone. FH picked it out all by himself, based on the idea that it’s my favorite color. It’s so “me” it’s ridiculous. :)

I have a rectangular setting of five sapphires, and I love it! I knew that I wanted something green or blue (favorite colors) and we found it in a fabulous jewelry shop in Mazatlan.

I’m definitely getting a non-traditional sapphire. I love sapphire (it’s my birthstone), but want something a little different from the usual blue, so it’ll probably be a pink, blue or padparadscha sapphire. thenaturalsapphirecompany.com is a great website if you’re considering a sapphire.

I was so excited when you were picked as a Bee, since I am a huge fan of your site! Your posts are great! But so far, almost all of them have been directly recycled, word for word, picture for picture, from your blog.

I love your take on things so please don’t take this as a harsh criticism, more of a constructive one. It would be really nice to see some new material from you on WB instead of just the recycled stuff! I skip over almost all of your posts right now because I’ve seen almost all of them already.

Oh I am sorry you feel this way. There are maybe 3-4 posts that have been “re-cycled” as you call it. Some of the posts, I have modified to fit my personal wedding planning (example the invitation post) but I have done some personal ones.

I’ve only been a bee for 2 weeks now, so I can’t put all my personal posts up all at once. ;) But I understand what you mean, and will try to be careful. Thank you for visiting my site and weddingbee.

And again, no harsh feelings :)
