Greetings, everyone! Before we get to the little game I have planned, I’ll run through some quick little details about me.

First off, I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the hive! I hope that you’ll have as much fun reading about my wedding ideas, as I have writing about about them!

Second, since everyone seems interested in why people chose their characters, I’ll let you in on how I became Miss Toucan. Honestly, I couldn’t decide, so I let Mr. Toucan pick. He picked “Toucan” because it reminded him of a certain favorite beer of his (must be his Irish blood!), and therefore, the most manly icon… go figure!

Third, I like to break-up wordy posts with a picture or two. Since this already seems wordy to me, and we haven’t even gotten to my game, here’s a picture for you. Meet the Toucans!

Here’s us celebrating the end of the summer school semester during Boston’s Restaurant Week. A random fact about Mr. Toucan, he has really long arms- almost freakishly long. He took this picture of us himself!

Anyway, I thought for my first post, we could play one of those icebreaker games that no one really likes to play, so you can learn a little more about me and my wedding! The game: “2 truths and a lie.” I’ll list 3 things about me/my wedding, and as the name of the game suggests, 2 will be true, and 1 will be a lie. Then, later, I’ll write a post about each in more detail, and you’ll find out the truth about Miss Toucan.

1. The Proposal: Mr. Toucan proposed to me in a dark and practically vacated hotel parking lot.
2. Bargain hunting: I love a good deal. I almost never buy anything for full retail value. I’m certain that things always go on sale, and I love trying to figure out when stores have their best sales. My most recent steals and deals? My wedding dress; favors for the kiddies; and best of all a Print Gocco that I scored for free.
3. “Wedding Expenses“: I’m guilty (and on more than one occasion) of justifying non-wedding related purchases as “wedding expenses.” Even worse, I think my parents are more guilty of it than I am.

So, #1, #2, or #3? Can you spot my little white lie?
