Love Is Sweet…

November 8th, 2007 @ 10:59 am by Mrs. Onion

I’m still waiting for our proofs from our photographer, but I just couldn’t resist posting this photo from the end of the evening. While everyone was enjoying their cake, Mr. Onion and I headed across the Church Street Marketplace to Ben & Jerry’s! What would a Vermont wedding be with out some B&J ice cream?! Yum — mint chocolate chunk!

The funny thing is because I wasn’t in a typical wedding dress and wasn’t wearing my veil anymore, no one even noticed us until they saw Daria and her husband Andy with their cameras!

Such a funny experience to blend in on the one day where you think you’d be the center of attention. I loved it actually!

I had this ice cream run planned — I ate hardly any cake (so sad, because it was SO good) because I was saving room for ice cream. Anyway, I asked Mr. Onion to carry two things with him on our wedding day.

1) Enough money to buy me an ice cream
2) A migraine pill for me (nothing can ruin your wedding day faster then a migraine)! Luckily for me, I didn’t need the medicine, but I did enjoy my ice cream ;)

Any other brides stop for ice cream with their new husband? I’d love to see photos if you did!

That picture of you two with the ice cream cone is just the cutest thing in existence!

You’ve actually inspired me…. We’re having e-pics taken tomorrow, and I’m thinking if it’s too cold or we run out of ideas, we might go to Junior’s (famous Brooklyn restaurant) for cheesecake.

Mrs Onion you continue to reveals things that confirm my suspicious that you were the most original, creative, true-to-self bride ever. I love all the things you did that make the wedding your own. Mr. Onion must be one lucky guy! Great photos.

I had a killer sore throat after the wedding, so we had to stop at Denny’s on the way to our hotel for some tea. We were sittin’ there at the bar in a small-town Denny’s in our full get-up; it was even funnier because there were a bunch of prom-goers there and we wonder if they thought we were high-schoolers! It adds such a fun twist to be out alone in public together as a bride and groom, doesn’t it?

We’re getting ice cream with our bridal party in between the ceremony and the reception. Since we both LOVE ice cream, we thought this would be the best way for us to celebrate the ceremony. We’re getting married in a small, lakefront community, so it’ll be funny to see what people’s reactions are as we walk down the street from the chapel to the ice cream shop all dressed up! I”m so glad that others have done this!

aww. fun!! i really wish i could do this too.. i loooove ice cream. unfortunately our wedding day is packed with so many required events (to appease both sets of parents) that we won’t have time to do anything as spontaneous (or unspontaneous) as this. i shall live vicariously through your photos… post more. =)
