Mrs. Kiwi's Picture
Mrs. Kiwi, Los Angeles Age and Occupation in 06: 27, Bookkeeper Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, P.E. Teach/Coach @ private schools in LA Engagement Date: March 31, 2006 Wedding Date: November 3, 2007 Venue: Radisson Hotel About Me: I'm a bookkeeper who failed high school algebra. I'm currently living in Los Angeles, literally a street over from where I grew up with Mr. Kiwi, my honey of three years. We have a jumbo mini-dachshund (seriously, he's huuuuge), and we're planning an autumn themed wedding on a shoestring, paid for by ourselves. The wedding date is my late grandma's birthday, I needed her there somehow, and that seemed like the best way for us. I can't believe I'm a Bee! I couldn't be more proud!
About Mrs. Kiwi

Good/Bad

November 9th, 2007 @ 11:39 am by Mrs. Kiwi

Since I have no photos to share (yet- anyone who took some feel free to send them my way!!), I thought I’d post a list of the fantastic/crapular things that happened over my wedding/birthday weekend.

Fantastic:

1.) My cousin sent some pictures and a small write up of the celebration to my brother, who was unable to make the trip here from Australia (my sister in law is pregnant, so it’s understandable). He sent the pictures literally during the reception. It was great as it made me feel like my brother was able to participate.

2.) Our florist was able to add some ranunculus to my bouquet in honor of my grandma. They were an orange color and just popped. My bouquet was perfect!

3.) The choir made up of children was probably the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard. When the first song began, I couldn’t believe how angelic it sounded. Of course, I began to cry, so Mr. Kiwi had to utter some quotes from “Knocked Up” (fitting? not so much) to make me laugh.

4.) Mr. Kiwi bought me a really expensive purse in Vegas. Hey, how many times do you have a honeymoon AND birthday on the same day??

5.) My centerpieces/amber votives were a hit! People were leaving with them, after asking, of course. :)

A few of the crapular happenings:

1.) My dress hurt like hell after a few hours, and I have the most insane marks on the skirt! How did I get a footprint on the front of my dress???

2.) The DJ kind of sucked. Okay, the DJ definitely sucked. No one danced, so that’s a little sad.

3.) I didn’t get to eat a bite. Luckily I wasn’t hungry, but I didn’t even get to try my cake!

4.) The hotel lost our cake cutters. They were a gift, and I’d kind of like them back.

5.) Creepy guy (who shall remain nameless) shoved dollar bills down my dress during the dollar dance. I felt a little bit like a prostitute!!

ick…creepy guy. Sometimes you can’t help if they’re there, but I wish they’d stay in the corner or something.

My guy and I didn’t get to have much of our cake either. We had someone pack up the best parts of the buffet for us for a post-wedding picnic, but we forgot to mention cake. He was really bummed. Luckily, his mom brought us all the leftovers and we had cake for a week in our fridge when we got home from the honeymoon.
