Lemon Day Part XI: Strike A Pose!

November 14th, 2007 @ 11:03 am by Mrs. Lemon

While I realize how photojournalistic style is in vogue, one of the things that really intrigued us about our photographer was her ability to pose a picture. I’d read enough horror stories about brides who got 997 photos from their photog without one single picture of her and her family together, or with grandma, etc., to know that I wanted some posed shots just for the posterity of it all.

We didn’t take photos beforehand, since there was a wedding before us at the chapel and we wanted to use the grounds for the shots. Our families and attendents all made it to the hotel in time to enjoy the full hour of the cocktail reception, and we got all the photos we wanted. (Well… minus having Grandma in the big family photos… but that was a transportation slip-up and we got the photos at the reception)

Here’s our new BIG family!

z118066015
My wonderful new set of East coast parents!

z118066016
Yup… I’m definitely Daddy’s girl winky01

z118066017
People remark how my Mom and I make the same facial expressions… as captured perfectly by this totally unposed picture… someone must have said something cute, and we reacted with the “awwww” face. stunned02

z118066018
My kick-ass brothers and super adorable nephew

z118066019
(p.s. throwing your ring bearer around the grass keeps the blood flowing to his brain to prevent crankiness)

z118066020
Now here’s the perfect example of an awkwardly posed photo… which upon being snapped was instantly rearranged. As you can see, Mr. Lemon and I had very different qualifications for choosing attendents. I went for the whole graduated height thing while he opted for consistency. Hmmm….

z118066021
Ahh…. so much better! And look at that… the uneven numbers aren’t even noticed!

z118066022
If you’ve got a big dress… you have to show it off somehow!

z118066023
Now here’s some of the fun posing….

I <3 how Mr. Lemon’s gold vest/tie stands out in this photo!

The guys popped into the hacienda for a couple more photos.

Great shots. Did you give your photog a list beforehand? Ex: 1) with my fam, 2 )with my his bros, etc.

Also - I was thinking about taking the posed shots outside of the church too. Any particular reason why you decided to not take them inside at the altar?

Thansk!

I’m glad someone else likes a few posed shots. My wedding was probably the only time we were going to get everyone dressed up, in the same location, and in front of a high-quality camera. I have to laugh at the photographer’s comment though…”four moms and two dads?” :D

I love the funny face picture!

She did WONDERS with the groomsmen! I know that men arent exactly into “posing”. They look so great.

I also would like to know if you gave your photog a “list of shots” that you wanted?
