The Details: Bride’s Attire

November 14th, 2007 @ 9:31 am by Mrs. Lime

Whee!  More photos.  I promise the upcoming ones after this entry won’t focus on me as much.  Yeesh, I’m tired of looking at myself already.

In case you missed it, here are the photos I already posted:
[I] The Details: Hair + Makeup

I will post more in-depth vendor reviews eventually, but I won’t even list them in my entries unless I would recommend them. I was fortunate to have an awesome team of vendors who made our wedding day run smoothly, mostly stress-free, and beautiful! Please let them know I sent you when you contact them.

Again, all photos by M. Norwood Photography unless otherwise noted.

Red, hot, and sweaty… yummy lime. I’m not sure why I’m on such a mission, but you can see the shoes I slipped into when my toes tired of being pinched by the pumps. I probably looked more like this on the day of. Witness the transformative powers of professional photographs [not that C isn’t a good photographer wink]!

If you decide to change shoes, just remember to change back before the garter toss. Luckily, my fab coordinator left my nice shoes and garter under our sweetheart table and reminded me about 15-20 minutes beforehand to change shoes.

Pearl + CZ earrings gifted to me by husband “just because” [he saw them on my blog] about 6 months before our wedding. :D

I love your dress! So gorgeous!

And great tip about the shoes…I changed into flip flops, and we didn’t have a garter toss, but I can totally see how I may have forgotten to change back!

Beautiful pics!!

your dress is just lovely! you look beautiful. you bought your dress on-line? i’m sure others would love to hear how that went.

i too had back up shoes (thanks to my awesome bridesmaid who made that her mission the morning of the wedding). it was no easy task as i’m a woman’s size 5 which no one carries. she ended up getting kids size 3, i think, from the limited too! i would have been miserable had i not changed out of my beautiful pumps.

Your hair pins are so cool. And that dress! I’d have to agree that it looks like it was made for you. Thanks for sharing the website too!

I love it all!! Quick question - where did you attach your drop veil at?? Did you do it above your chignon or on the top of your head? It looks SO good!! I’m probably going to get a drop veil - but i have no idea where you attach it! Thanks!

thank you, all for the lovely comments.

onion, i think i might have talked about buy my dress online in my dress entries eons ago, but i’ll definitely be reviewing the website i bought from and how my experience went. overall, it was an awesome experience thanks for the suggestion!

sarah, my bridesmaids attached my veil right above my chignon with two of those wider bobby pins in an X. you may be able to see it better in my ceremony photos, which i will be posting soon.

You made the right choice on you bustle…I think french bustles are so elegant.

I also have a question about the veil…I’m probably going to do the drop veil as well but I’ve seen at least one drop veil bride whose veil flew away when she walked outside. Did it feel secure when you attached it? Did you measure out beforehand how long you wanted it in the front/back?

Mrs. Lime says:

baghdadbride,

yes, it felt secure as my bridesmaids made sure the two bobby pins were firmly secured. there was wind during our ceremony, and it stay put during the ceremony and for a few bridal portraits after the ceremony. i took it off for the reception, so it wasn’t an issue for that, although i’m sure it probably would have stayed.

i had my veil custom made, so candi merle and i measured it out during our first meeting (picked it up at the second). i just remembered that i wanted elbow length in the “front,” she marked the front with a piece of lace + safety pin since mine was an oval, so it had a front and back. candi made it very easy.

hope this helps!

Mrs lime,
I see that after you bustled your dress it looks like it still drags on the floor a little. That is also how my bustle will be.
Did you have a problem with that? Did you try dancing? I think it won’t be a problem, I just can’t walk backwords!

Mrs. Lime says:

Candi,

It did drag a tiny big on the floor still, but it was fine. I had no problems at all dancing or doing anything else all day when the dress was bustled. I did trip over the front hem of my dress a couple times, so be sure it’s a tiny bit shorter up front or to kick the hem out a little as you walk.
