Another Ring Option

November 15th, 2007 @ 11:02 am by Mrs. Firefly

So, in my usual decisive manner (haha!), I don’t think I like the Scott Kay ring anymore. This is my current front runner:

The brand is Tacori and it’s a little more than the Scott Kay ring, but I feel like I’d be getting more for my money! I need to order it from Bailey Banks by Saturday to get the 10% off (although I’m sure I could sweet talk them into extending the offer). My one issue with the ring is that they are showing it with a 2+ carat center stone, while mine is just over 1.5 carats — I actually think it will look better with a smaller stone, but I wish I could see it first! What do you think?

I like the Tacori ring better as well. It’s beautiful.

It is very nice! Does the store have a sample setting that they could loosely mount your diamond in so you could get a better idea?

Tacori rings are BEAUUUUTIFUL!! I think it would look great with a 1.5 carat stone.

This is actually my ring (only mine is a “petite” setting ) and I love it :)

That ring is gorgeous Mrs. Firefly! Normally I don’t get jealous about other rings but, I’ll admit it, I felt just a tiny pinge of envy :P

Tacori is almost always stunning! You’re definitely getting more design for your money, plus more name recognition. I don’t usually judge duamonds by name recognition, but in this case it’s a bonus for a stunning ring. I love that setting.

amazing ring. also check out overstock.com. they carry Tarcori there. I was a bit surprised they had rings and such. Also they have great discounts!

JJrames — nope, i wish. bailey banks actually doesn’t have the ring at all (although they can order it). I saw the ring in anther store in manhattan with the 2+ carat diamond (well, cubic zirconia;-) but they didn’t have a empty setting.

JC — can I ask how big your center stone is??? The woman at Bailey Banks said that I may need the petite or medium setting (she wasn’t sure if it was one size or two separate sizes).

Thank you ladies! I love this site;-)

Linda — holy moly! you’re right. they do carry tacori — unfortunately not my ring, but i’m thinking of getting a new wedding band (i don’t like my current one — it was pretty cheap) and would eventually like a new one, so I’ll be checking overstock regularly!

I really like the scott kay ring!! Its gorgeous!! But i think the Tacori ring might go better with your wedding ring - i just saw the picture and i think they would fit better together. But, you can’t go wrong either way!

I love this, it’s beautiful! The Scott Kay ring isn’t bad, but it didn’t stand out as much as this one did. Plus I really like the “split” bad on the side of the diamond…really unique.

L says:

I meant, “split” band.

It looks so lovely! But, please, please consider looking at online vendors that may carry this style! You can still buy from an approved vendor (with a good return policy!) and get a much better price. I know it has been mentioned hear before, but check out Pricescope. The members are wonderful, and someone may have the setting with the size stone you want. They would also love to help you find it less expensively!
