Feeling Inspired?

November 15th, 2007 @ 5:16 pm by Mrs. Toucan

A friend of mine was having trouble coming up with some floral schemes for her April 2008 wedding. Naturally, since I love looking at pictures of all things wedding, I told her I’d help her out. Her main colors are celery green and white. I was finding so many lovely pictures, so I decided to make some inspiration boards.

This first board is all green and white (click to enlarge):

Since she told me she wasn’t opposed to adding an extra accent color to the mix, I added some lavender on this next board. I love this color combo.

Feeling Inspired? : wedding themes Purple+green+boardFinally, the green and pale pink board. I think that she’s leaning more to this color palette. I think this board looks the most fresh and spring-y.

Feeling Inspired? : wedding themes Green+pink+boardI think that no matter what she chooses, her wedding is going to be gorgeous!

Why thank you Miss Toucan, my colors are currently “meadow green” (from the Ann Taylor Celebrations collection) and ivory, and I’ve been considering various shades of pink and purple as accent colors, so it’s wonderful to see how these color combos might play out as I try to come up with floral schemes for MY April 2008 wedding! :)

I love inspirations boards…good job!

Snippet and Ink is also a great resource too (the gal admits loving green and white).

I had green, white and red and loved the color combination…freesia and hydrangeas are wonderful for green and white.

Miss Toucan,

where did you get the picture of the cake in the purple green inspiration board? I can’t enlarge the pictures by clicking it.

i’m also trying to come up with an accent color for sage green and (ivory? brown? ok, two accent colors…). my color scheme is still in development, and these boards are very inspirational! what would you think about the green and lavendar for a mid-september wedding? maybe with chocolate as well? too summer/springy?

Vero, I’ll to check around. I actually made these boards a while ago… I’ll try to find it and get back to you. :)

nikkinicole, I think if you use the right color green, like more of a sage, (I consider the above more of a celery than a sage), lavender and brown would look fantastic in the fall! You can tie in some really organic browns (ie using wheatgrass and raffia), to make it look more in season as well.

Also, use Mrs. Onion’s wedding for a reference too. I believe she used brown, purples, greens and whites, and it came out lovely! :)

i love the last one! my wedding started blues and purples and ended up celadon with a hint of peachy pink. it was so easy to find flowers for the wedding because pink and green are so common in florals. everything looks beautiful!

I really love the first and third boards–pink and green are so classic and soft! Miss Strawberry pretty much had that pallate with brown. :-)
