You can tell that a number of us Bees just got hitched due to the number of Thank You card-related posts! And here’s my contribution to the topic. ![]()
While many brides lust over letterpressed stationary (I would have considered it had it been in the budget!), I personally have a love affair with offset printing, and more specifically, Overnight Prints. I can wax poetic about their thick paper stock, the brilliant colors, the glossy UV coating… I even love the way they smell (yea, I’m strange). I had OP print my invitation, rsvp card, website card, menu cards, and now my Thank You postcards (so it’s all cohesive of course!!).
I kept it simple and used one of my favorite black & white images of us flashing our newly graced ring fingers (despite the fact that I am slightly out of focus in the pic). Initially, I played around with adding some text, but then decided that I preferred it without text. I chose to print 5.5″ x 8.5″ postcards versus the 4″ x 6″ postcards, even though that meant paying regular $0.41 postage instead of the discounted postcard rate.
Here is the front (ignore the date stamp, that’s from my digicam, not the actual postcard):

And the back:

I designed the back in Adobe Illustrator, and I used our lovely monogram. I also included lines because I absolutely cannot write in a straight line to save my life!! My handwriting is forever crooked… so lines were a must, and I have to say they made the writing process a whole lot easier!
I ordered 250 cards for a total of $72 (I Googled a discount code!), even though I only needed about 100. I could have ordered 100, but then I wouldn’t have had enough if I made mistakes (which I made tons!) And now I am left with all these:

Anyone have any interesting ideas of what I can do with my 100+ leftovers? And my 100+ invitations, rsvp cards, website cards, and 50+ menu cards sitting in my basement??
You could use a few to make mini wedding scrapbooks for the attendants. The postcards can be used as regular postcards for a while. But then you’re still left with all the other paper goods…
