Reader Buzz: Myers Briggs and Harry Potter

Mrs. Bee here. We did a Reader Buzz last week on Introverts versus Extroverts in relationships. Mr. Bee is an introvert, which works out nicely since I am one too.

Mrs. Petunia posted two links to a more detailed psychological analysis of your personality (the Myers Briggs test). It breaks down more than just Introvert versus Extrovert - but also things like whether you’re Thinking versus Feeling, etc.

Mr. Bee and I are both INTJ’s. What is that, you say? Well someone created a cool site which maps the personality types onto Harry Potter characters. According to them, INTJ’s are like Severus Snape!

Perfectionist? Prefer to avoid drawing too much attention to themselves? That doesn’t describe me or Mr. Bee at all!

Hmm. What does being irritated by the typo in #5 on the Harry Potter page say about me?

I am an ISFJ and he is a ISTP… I’ve read about our profiles, and they are very true in all respects! It’s scary how when we get into a fight, it is always about the same things that we differ on in our profiles!

I’m an INFJ, Albus Dumbledore. I was hoping I was more like Hermione. Thinking it over…my personality traits do match a lot of Dumbledore’s! Interesting!

yeah, I don’t put a lot of stock into that I think us INTs generally get bad raps b/c there usually aren’t very many of us…

im harry potter! haha ISFP.

however, I got ISFP on the Jung test and INTJ on the harry potter quiz. also worth pointing out that i got 56% Introvert, but below 15% in S, F, and P. i guess i tend to walk the line…

I had to do the Myers-Brigg for work–ISTJ…which is a really atypical personality type for my work. Apaprently it’s a Hermione Granger…which I’m kind of sad to say fits pretty well!

I’m an INFJ (Albus Dumbledore) - which according to what I’ve read is the rarest type (2% of the population or so). For anyone interested in this stuff, the book ‘Please Understand Me II’ has these longer descriptions of how your type plays out in real life (INFJ at work, etc). May not be true for everybody, but I found those longer descriptions to be right on in my case. I took it at work, and it was great to be able to identify that INFJs are motivated by lots of praise! From then on, my manager made sure to compliment me profusely when things were going well. Also helped me think about how to interact with the folks I managed and others.

I’m Voldemort (INTP) and my fiance is Severus Snape (INTJ). When I told my fiance I was Voldemort, he said, “I could have told you that.” Hmmph. Anyway, the longer descriptions are pretty much dead on as far as our personalities go which is kinda scary.
