Billion Dollar Babes

November 18th, 2007 @ 11:26 am by Mrs. Lovebird

What an exciting day yesterday was.  First off, I met with the Best Man and his girlfriend, Mona, for a lovely brunch at Merchant.  Then, Best Man left us and Mona took me to the Billion Dollar Babes Sale where they have Amsale sample dresses on sale for around 1/2 off and up to 80% off! They also have a few veils as well!

I apologize if the pictures are a little blurry, we only had an iphone with us and had to be slick about it because I don’t think we were supposed to be taking pictures.

They also had makeup people from Prescriptives and hair people from Cutler Salon and T3 at the sale.

The guy from Cutler did this in 15 minutes using a T3 straightener/curler. It’s the next day and my curls are pretty much still intact. If he’s still there today, someone please ask him if it was the T3’s magic or the hairspray he used. And tell him I said, hi! He also gave me some wedding hair tips. It’s too bad my wedding is in Cancun, otherwise, I would totally book him.

I think the second dress you tried on was worn by Mrs. Plum at her wedding.

Your hair is gorgeous! I wish I had the patience to curl my own hair (plus the ability to not whine about my arm getting sore lol).

Those dresses were amazing, but I loved seeing your hair transformation the best!

Gosh, I wish I could be in New York for this event. I live in CA. I really liked the fourth picture on your post. It is the one with roushing on the top (sweatheart neckline) with delicate beading. You also had a picture of the back of the dress. Do you remember the designer of this dress? I love it!

Thanks for the info. I tried looking on Amsale’s website for this dress, but couldn’t find it. Do you think it was from one of their older collections?

fx22ibay~ I’m sorry~ it’s a Kenneth Pool dress~ I guess Amsale was selling it~ here’s the link:

It’s also Mrs. Plum’s dress if you want to see some more pictures.

Lizzy~ the gowns were around $2,000. Quite a bargain for the quality I think~ If I didn’t already have two dresses~ I would’ve definitely bought one. I’m trying real hard not to be a three dress bride. The first veil I tried on was the only short veil they had and everything else was much longer. Only problem was: the design was sooooo heavy, I think it was made out of metal or something. It was really beautiful but heavier than it looks.
