Help Us Choose Our Save The Dates!

November 19th, 2007 @ 9:25 am by Mrs. Daffodil

Believe it or not, but we have less than six months til the wedding!… which means we definitely need to get our save-the-dates out. We’ve opted for electronic save the dates, for a variety of reasons:

  • It’ll save us money (aka it’s free!)
  • It saves us some time… no assembly and trips to the post office required!
  • It’s a means of collecting our guests’ most up-to-date addresses

We may end up printing a few of these as postcards for some of our parents’ friends. With the help of these postcard sticker backs, our photo printer, and some matte photo paper, we’ll be able to create them easily while keeping costs down.

Anyhow, I’ve whipped up a couple of designs and would love your votes! We are using one of our engagement pictures that were taken by Scott Robert.

C. Flushed right with “Save the date” in block letters

Also, as our wedding colors are pale spring green and pale pink, I was hoping to incorporate an element of green in the save-the-date. Some examples below using text layout C…

C4. Just keep it simple, with the simple black border and no green at all

Thanks for voting! I’ll let you know which one we end up choosing.

I just wanted to say that I voted for the flushed right text layout but if you decided on this one, could you move the ampersand to be centered? I think that sign looks a little funny flushed all the way to the side.

My fiance and I are doing postcards as well. Another option rather than printing the postcards yourselves is creating them on Zazzle.com. You can upload images, write text, create your layout and have them printed on postcards. Best of all…not too expensive!

I’m sad that my alignment vote is so very much in the minority. The reason I like the flush right is it mimics the shape of the photo (flatter toward the middle and curvier toward the outside), and almost makes it look like he’s leaning against the text.

Great STDs! Beautiful designs (and picture!). I really like how the block goes with the script. You did a great job picking the fonts. I like either C2 or C3 (I voted for C3 b/c the green stands out just a tad bit more). I think it incorporates nicely, without it looking too drab if it were to be simple (i.e. C4).
