Happy US Thanksgiving

November 22nd, 2007 @ 12:25 pm by Mrs. Flamingo

It’s the time of year when families gets together around a great thanksgiving turkey dinner to highlight all the great stuff about family, friends and life. I would like to take the time to wish you all U.S. ladies a Happy Thanksgiving!!! (Canadian Thanksgiving was last month for us - never understood why we weren’t in-sync). Today’s post features some great table decor ideas from Social Couture.

Social Couture is yet another great source for inspiration and ideas when it comes to themed parties. It’s sort of your one stop shop! You can purchase all the items shown in the fabulous presentations, individually or as a whole themed setting. Easy as 1,2,3. Check out their site for interesting, innovative ideas.

Heh - I’m Canadian too and keep forgetting that it’s Thanksgiving for so many this weekend.

The reason why us Canadians are not in sync with the Americans for the timing of Thanksgiving is that Thanksgiving is supposed to occur at the end of the harvest season, traditionally to give thanks for the bounty of the season. It’s colder up north, and so our harvest season ends sooner!

Oh… its all about the harvest. I never knew that! Thanks for the info. But either way I still think it should be at the same time. Like the time change. We are finally in-sync!

My chiropractor is Canadian, but married an American, so they get two Thanksgivings. :)
