Convertible Sandals

November 26th, 2007 @ 11:46 am by Mrs. Flamingo

Thanks to Wedding Tulle, I was introduced to Jane Rafter’s SLINKS. These beautiful handmade leather sandals are such an ingenious idea. Mixing beauty, creativeness and fashion, they’re completely transformable with individually designed, interchangeable uppers. How great is that - 3 pairs of sandals in 1.

The presentation itself is worth the buy - each comes in a beautiful silk fair-trade bag. Each upper has its own compartment for easy storage. Easy to see, easy to use. You can also purchase additional uppers to have even more options.

These beautiful creations retail at $120 British Pounds. Talk about a great gift for your bridesmaids or even for the bride-to-be. Aren’t we lucky Christmas is just around the corner. :)

Has anyone found interesting gifts to give to their bridal party? I would love to hear them…. I’m overwhelmed with my lack of ideas, and I find it quite difficult to please everyone!

I email the owner to see if they ship to the US and Canada… I don’t know the exchange rate but I am sure they cost around 200$. A bit pricey… but if you calculate it.. its about 80$ per sandal. (Since there are 3 in the pack)

Maybe there is a company in the US that offers the same idea… just have to find it. ;)

mohop.com has something somewhat of a similar idea only using ribbon to connect to the sole. i thought they’d only really look like espedrils, but if you look at the gallery there are some really cute ideas! plus with using ribbon, the possibilities are pretty endless. i think i saw abotu $180 for a pair, so still pricey, but less than the ones above (which i wish i could afford!)

Thanks alli… but not the same look though. I got an answer back from Jane… and yes they ship to the US and Canada…. you simply have to email her and voila! She will do the rest.

I embroidered handkerchiefs for all of my bridesmaids…a little design (each one was different) and their first initial. I’m terrible at embroidery, but I love having my own handkerchiefs that I’ve done like that in the past, and I hoped they’d like them as much as I like having something so sweet in my own purse every day.

I also found 1154 Lill (http://1154lill.com/custombags/default.asp) via one of the many wedding websites I visited while planning my wedding, and had custom made Erinn bags (http://1154lill.com/lisanet/layout.aspx?bagnbr=121) created for each of them as well. They wound up costing me about $90 each after the discount was applied (I think I got a discount because I ordered several bags at once…), and my girls LOVED them! They all squeeled and oohed and aahed over the bags when they opened their presents that night at the rehearsal dinner…it was so fun! I’d highly recommend that route if it’s within your budget.

Hello all,
Just saw this - thank you so much for your comments. I have just started selling online and can ship to anywhere! So please do get in touch jane@janerfater.com if you have any questions or would like a pair of these fabulous sandals. The Londoners love them and would be great to start selling in the US too.
Thanks,
Jane
