Complement Your Registry

November 27th, 2007 @ 10:32 am by Mrs. Penguin

Like us, you probably registered for a slew of bar glasses, dishes, table linens, and possibly, a table. Here are a few more items to give you an excuse to break out the good china and host a dinner party… maybe Santa will bring them for you?

A cute apron. I like these:Complement Your Registry : wedding registry sacramento ApronsFrom Left to Right: Wishingfish.com $40, Anthropologie $28, Etsy Seller Dapperduds $25

A few cookbooks I’ve had my eye on:Complement Your Registry : wedding registry sacramento CookbooAlice Waters: “The Art of Simple Food”, Nigella Lawson: “How to be a Domestic Goddess”, Giada De Laurentiis “Giada’s Family Dinners”

Party games that rock your socks off! (cause I never quite grew up… and why would I with games like these?):

Complement Your Registry : wedding registry sacramento GamesApples to Apples, Catch Phrase, Balderdash

What must you have to make a party (and your registry) complete?

Miss P, I LOVE Catch Phrase!

Such a fun game– with the added fun of violently banging the side of the disk holder to change the word. Well, at least I enjoy banging it violently— some other players find me obnoxious for so doing. Killjoys.

Yay for Balderdash. We played that on Thanksgiving! I also highly recommend any of the Barefoot Contessa cookbooks. Family style is my favorite though since it seems to have the most cooking stains.

I love all three games you listed! I will forever be haunted by one late night game of balderdash where I pronounced pigeon as “pig-eon.”

One thing that I can’t wait to register for is Fiesta Ware. Bring on the color!

joyful2, we registered for Fiesta Ware too! Love that stuff…keeps going and going.

We have mispronunciation stories about in our family. My own moment came when I read a lost dog poster and said schipperke “shi-perky”. As a dog person, I can never lives this down.
