One of the last major milestones before the wedding is done!
While I could go on (and on and on…) about all the things that I “should” do before the big day, most of them are unnecessary. The last real necessary task was completed last week before flying up to Sacramento for Thanksgiving…
(drum roll, please)
We got our marriage license!
After waiting about 40 minutes (I couldn’t find the electronic form online to submit, so we had to wait until they processed our completed form), we got it! (Our smile hides our crankiness from getting lost on the way to the Van Nuys Courthouse and then having to wait in a crowded room with crying children). Nonetheless, it’s done!
For you other California brides, the license is good for 90 days and you don’t need to have a blood test or physical. As I mentioned above, I’ve been told there’s an easy online form you can complete prior to going to the courthouse that will speed up the process (if you know the link, please post it below for other brides-to-be!)
Hooray! This is the one thing I didn’t take a picture of — I felt silly asking a stranger to take our picture — silly onion!
Great you got it out of the way — we had to get ours two days before the wedding but it was a breeze! It was easier than applying for a credit card even — a little scary.
