Mrs. Kiwi's Picture
Mrs. Kiwi, Los Angeles Age and Occupation in 06: 27, Bookkeeper Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, P.E. Teach/Coach @ private schools in LA Engagement Date: March 31, 2006 Wedding Date: November 3, 2007 Venue: Radisson Hotel About Me: I'm a bookkeeper who failed high school algebra. I'm currently living in Los Angeles, literally a street over from where I grew up with Mr. Kiwi, my honey of three years. We have a jumbo mini-dachshund (seriously, he's huuuuge), and we're planning an autumn themed wedding on a shoestring, paid for by ourselves. The wedding date is my late grandma's birthday, I needed her there somehow, and that seemed like the best way for us. I can't believe I'm a Bee! I couldn't be more proud!
About Mrs. Kiwi

Random Nothings

November 28th, 2007 @ 2:59 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

Hey everyone! The pictures are in, but I’m sick. Boo.  I’m just going to post a few favorites I’ve downloaded to my work computer, and when I go home today, I’ll try to post more.

This is one taken of our rings on the cake topper on the cake. I can just smell the buttercream now. Well, if I could smell anything. :)

Now, here’s the skinny on the cake. Luckily, after posting I received a call from the coordinator, telling me she still had our cake! It’s been safely packed and wrapped, and it’s sitting in my dad’s empty-except for booze- freezer, completely clean smelling. Dad and I had to take a few swipes of the icing, but it was lopsided after all the shifting around - we had to fix it!

The cake was excellent, not dry and very tasty. I had forgotten how great their buttercream was, it seemed to be even better than the tasting versions were. The design came exactly as I had chosen, the colors were perfect, and our topper was amazing. The only small gripe was that the cake seemed a little tilted.

The following pictures are my dad and I with the limo.

I love this one, he was the first person I saw at the church. That pocket square he found right before the wedding. He thought it was a nice touch.

I made him get inside with me. A girl needs her dad, right?

As you can see, the limo showed up, was white, and perfect. I called the Friday before to make sure the directions were right, and that was the only thing that needed to be done. We used Crown Limo, and couldn’t have been happier. The driver was very nice, rolled out the red carpet, had some champagne for Mr. Kiwi and I, and the limo was spotless. A plus, he took the long road back to the hotel for the reception, which gave us more “just married” time together.

A special thanks to my mom for these adorable and comfy lamb slippers!

Did you use one of those crystal trees as your cake topper? I want to do this but am unsure if it would be to heavy. Would you mind letting me know your thoughts on this and perhaps emailing me a photo so I can show my mom that i am not crazy and that it looks cute.
