Rings And Change

November 29th, 2007 @ 12:41 pm by Mrs. Onion

Last night on the new BeeTV chat, the topic of ring finger sizes came up. There was some amazement at how small my fingers are (2 3/4) and you all wanted proof. So, as promised, I photographed my wedding ring, e-ring and Mr. Onion’s wedding ring next to a dime, penny and quarter for reference and my finger next to a pencil.

The one thing I didn’t photograph was my ring inside Mr. Onion’s ring — I should have because it’s really cute! Mr. Onion’s ring finger is about a size 9, although we’re not sure because it had to be re-sized to fit perfectly.

So, what size is your wedding ring finger?

Haha, after I read this, I immediately pulled out my change purse =) But strangely, mine are 5.75, but are about the size of a penny…

I’m a 5 1/4 I believe, however, my engagement ring is not that size yet. I thought my hand was small! Not even close.

Oooh I wish I had teeny fingers like you! I’m short but I inherited my mom’s chubby fingers…..so I’m a 6 1/2 but I wear a 6 3/4 because I like it a bit loose.

This is funny - I too have 2 3/4 - the jeweler had not made an engagement ring my size before!

this makes no sense to me. mine (one, giant ring) was supposedly made a little bigger because the band is so large, and I’m a 5, but when I lined it up with change, the inside was smaller than a dime. much smaller…. i have no idea what went on there, but it fits perfectly. :)

Mine’s a 4.5 but now I’ll have to size it up with coins also to make sure.

And people thought my hands were small!

I used to think I had small hands, my ring is a size 4. My mom’s is even smaller her wedding ring is a 3.5.

I’m in the chubby fingers crowd, too. I wear an 8.

What’s weird is that my size 8 rings fit my left ring finger, my pinkies, and my thumbs…but not my right ring finger.

Yea for tiny fingers- I am a 2 1/2! Our jeweler had to order my rings in a size 3 b/c the manufacturer wouldn’t make a mold any smaller. We then got them sized down. What a process 3 months on my e-ring and 2 months and counting on my wedding band.

I’m a 3.75; my jeweler wanted to size my ring to a 4 because he thought 3.75 was too small (for anyone) even though 4 kept slipping off. I insisted, got my size, and it fits perfect. :)

yay i’m not the only one with small fingers! i think mine’s a size 3…the jeweler who resized the ring couldn’t believe such a small size would fit me!

5 when it’s humid and I’m bloated.
4.5 otherwise. :o)

But both my rings are size 5. I’d rather then roll around then cut off circulation.

4.5 too! :) It turns out though my e-ring can only fit on my ring fingers and none the other (well, pinkies, but it will slide off)

I don’t even think my pinkie finger is that small!! I’m a petite gal with man hands - 6.5 on the ring finger. My right hand ring finger is even bigger - sheesh!

Maybe you should have been Miss Spring Onion— though those green stalks might still be bigger than your wee ring finger! :)

I’m a 3 too! The jeweler claimed that she had never seen someone with a ring size that small either. I’m wondering if she was just saying that now with how many people who have responded that they’re a 3 and smaller! :)

i’m 3 3/4.

maegan - i hear you on the jeweler insisting you get a 4. everytime i got sized when shopping for my rings, the jewelers would have doubting looks on their faces when i told them my size and then when, indeed, i was a 3 3/4 they’d be like, “oh, you’re right!”

my ring size is 4 and fits perfectly in the summer, but i’ve noticed now that its cold outside it is slightly too big and spins/moves around.

but if i resize it small it might be too small in the hot months, anyone else have this dilemma? my hands must swell alot.

Mine’s a 3.5-I thought the jeweler was crazy when he insisted I got my ring sized. I thought it would cut the circulation off-but it still rolls around my finger most of the time. I feel better hearing about all you other little fingered people!

Mine is a 3 3/4 when my fiance bought my engagement ring, the jeweler tried to talk him out of it and said “you shouldn’t buy expensive things for children … they just lose it.” Ha :)

I have long fingers and I’m a 5.5 in ring size. One place told us I was a 5.75, and that is the size of my ring, but it is too loose!

Hand size also depends on how tall you and etc… are all you teeny ring girls also petite? I’m 5′8″.

i’m 5′ 10″, so fairly tall for a girl, but my ring size is about a 5… pretty tiny for my height, i think?

but then, now that i think about it, my feet are small for my height too - others near my height are usually 9/10/11, i’m an 8.5! i guess i just have small appendages, heh.
