I’m generally a pretty organized person. My day planner may as well be attached to my hand, because I always have it with me, and I’m the queen of lists. However, planning our wedding is most definitely putting my organizational skills to the test!
We’re getting really close to the big day, so I’m down to finishing up the final details (writing notes on favor tags, tying ribbons around sparkler stems) and confirming with vendors… and I’ve found myself wondering, ‘how in the world am I supposed to keep everything organized?’
Honestly, I’m kind of ashamed of myself. Here’s my last-minute organization method:

During my holiday break, I watched a total of 4 movies (I Am Legend, Walk Hard, Juno and Enchanted) in about a week. (Yikes! I know…) Enchanted was really cute and much better than I expected - I can’t seem to get the catchy and cheesy songs from the movie out of my head!
The movie touches on the concepts of romance and marriage. In one scene, Patrick Dempsey tells the main character, Amy Adams, about the concept of dating, which was totally new to her since she had been waiting for her Prince Charming to come get her to live happily ever after.

Mrs. Onion’s post last week reminded me of a conversation that I had with Mr. Peacock and his sisters at Christmas. I think the conversation started with me talking about how I didn’t know how to make my manicures last longer than a few days. After recommending that I add a coat of clear polish each day after the manicure, one of Mr. Peacock’s sisters advised that Mr. Peacock get a manicure before the wedding. She mentioned that there were several close-ups of their hands (with their new rings) in her wedding album and that you would notice jagged cuticles.
Mr. Peacock just recoiled at the thought of a manicure. Another of Mr. Peacock’s sisters mentioned that her husband would NEVER let a stranger near his cuticles. They both had some vague dislike of manicurists touching their hands, particularly in a salon. I mentioned that there are several men-only salons in Chicago, but that didn’t make them feel any better.
Our photographer is a photojournalist, so I doubt we will have any of these in our album-

Is it just me, or can you not stop looking at other people’s engagement rings? Mrs. Bee did a similar post a while back and I thought it might be fun to update it with some new bling!
Read details about the rings at US Magazine.
I get to do a trash the dress session with videography greats Still-Motion. When I think about local Vancouver spots for a trash the dress session, nothing really appeals to me in the same way that I was really bored with the overdone hotels and golf courses as reception venues. I love edgy photos which is why I drool over anything taken with a lomo and/or cross processed (here’s a sample of cross processed images on flickr). My photography heroes used to be Heather Champ, delicious blur, and quarlo, back in the day when I took more photos.
After 2 years and 10 months of marriage, I finally changed my last name last week!
I put it off because of sheer laziness, but figured the government offices wouldn’t be as busy the week between Christmas and New Year’s, so I finally bit the bullet and did it.
Mr. Bee didn’t want me to change my name, but I’d always planned on doing it so everyone in our family would have the same name. After we got married, I did find myself a little reluctant to change my very Korean last name to an American one. But once I made the decision to continue using my maiden name both personally and professionally - my name would only be different on paper - I no longer felt a sense of loss. It took me three days, but I’m glad that I finally did it!
Here are the details on how to change your name (it’s going to be a similar process wherever you live):
