It’s All In The Details

December 3rd, 2007 @ 11:02 am by Mrs. Bubblegum

I have to admit that, before I started planning my own wedding, I was guilty of overlooking the details of weddings I attended. Unfortunately, I had been to several weddings where I could not tell you what colors they’d chosen or what the centerpieces looked like. That is not to say that it was forgettable.. it’s purely that I just did not pay attention, and for that, I am ashamed.

However, I was lucky enough to attend a wedding yesterday with all sorts of wonderful details which I am sure to remember:

The table.. before the swarms of guests.

The cake from afar. Oooooh, I heart chivari chairs. I spent most of the day wanting to steal them.

The cake up-close. Is that detail on it not insane??

The centerpieces.

The favors.. full of dates and nuts and hershey’s kisses. :)

The stage for the bride and groom.

The groom’s rings.

The music.

And finally, the happy couple (a rather important detail).

Anyone else guilty of missing the details?? Or worried that your guests might?

Okay, I admit it. I have always been one of the people who only notices the bad stuff. Like when a friend from high school got married, and one of the bridesmaids didn’t dye her shoes the right color? Horrors! But once I met the now-husband, I think I’ve had a better attitude, especially at weddings. Granted, that critical eye returned during the one wedding that happened during our engagement, but I can hardly be blamed for that, right? All weddings that dare to occur during one’s own engagement shall count as demonstrations, shopping lists, and/or “what not to do” tutorials.
