Dorothy Has Nothing On Me

I have known for some time that my wedding shoes would be red. Since it is both my favorite color and my accent color, I thought it would be appropriate to “accent” my outfit with an adorable… oh, who am I kidding… a HOT red shoe (because, I have to admit, some of the appeal is in the shock value).
I had conducted some extensive searches online, but it led me to two conclusions:
1) All the shoes I liked would make me too tall. Mr. Bubblegum is about 2 inches taller, but when I wear heels, he’s in trouble. For this one day, he requested that he not be made to look shorter.
2) All the shoes I liked were hella expensive. I was not about to spend half as much on my shoes as on my dress.
For a while, I had stopped looking. That is, however, until I stumbled upon THE ONES.
I was in Payless (yes, I buy most of my shoes at Payless) looking for some cute flats (which, by the way, I found. They’re gold and pointy and I heart them). At the time, I was in flats-mode. So when I saw THE ONES, I did NOT make the connection. In fact, I thought, “what a hot red shoe… I wish I had some reason to buy such a hot red shoe.” I even walked away.
Thirty seconds later, I turned around, shuffled back, and grabbed THE ONES off the shelf.
And here they are:
At 2.5″, these babies are the perfect height when Mr. Bubblegum wears shoes (hm, Payless’ website says 1.5″, but I measured). Plus, they’re the prettiest and comfiest shoes I’ve ever seen. The best part was, they were $19.99!!!!!

My sister and I were shopping (for my wedding dress) and saw those in the window. She said “too bad you dont want to wear red shoes for your wedding - those are awesome!”. So my sister would approve of your shoe choice

Aughh! That’s so funny! I had the same reaction yesterday while walking past Payless, but I turned around and walked away after asking the salegirl what colours they had…ie, no pink, only black and red. 
However, the shoe is C-UTE, Miss Bubblegum! Score!

I may be making a trip to Payless today. No reason for red shoes except they’re HOT (and cheap!). They’ll look great on New Years!!

They’re so cute! If I didn’t already have two pairs of red satin shoes, I’d totally buy them! I wore one of those pairs for my wedding, by the way, and everyone thought they were great.

Anyone know if you can order from payless.com to ship to Canada? I saw another pair of dyable shoes there and went to ask my local Payless to order them…the manager said that they doen’t special order???

Beautiful shoes! I have the opposite problem-I wish they’d come in 3.5 inches or higher!
I picked out my shoes before I picked out my dress!
I was only able to wear them to my ceremony because the reception was outdoors on grass!

Word tot he wise–do wear them around the house and see where the pressure points are. My wedding day shoes look a lot like that and they were painful on the toes-ies. Mole skin or second skin can help that!
