Mrs. Kiwi's Picture
Mrs. Kiwi, Los Angeles Age and Occupation in 06: 27, Bookkeeper Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, P.E. Teach/Coach @ private schools in LA Engagement Date: March 31, 2006 Wedding Date: November 3, 2007 Venue: Radisson Hotel About Me: I'm a bookkeeper who failed high school algebra. I'm currently living in Los Angeles, literally a street over from where I grew up with Mr. Kiwi, my honey of three years. We have a jumbo mini-dachshund (seriously, he's huuuuge), and we're planning an autumn themed wedding on a shoestring, paid for by ourselves. The wedding date is my late grandma's birthday, I needed her there somehow, and that seemed like the best way for us. I can't believe I'm a Bee! I couldn't be more proud!

It’s All About The Details

December 5th, 2007 @ 1:15 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

For some weird reason, I have a raging headache. As I’m stuck at work, here are some pictures to keep us entertained.

These are pictures of details from the reception room.

A few of the tables, before the candles were lit, or with just a flash (making them look brighter than they were).

In reality, the colors were much more golden and just glowed.

Here is our sweetheart table

More flower in vase pics, this one with our place cards, which had the table named “Paradise”. Cheesy. :)

And those are Mrs. Kiwi’s details! The tables were named after various trees, a few of them significant. My MIL’s table was named Jacaranda, for instance. This was a tree Mr. Kiwi planted with his dad many years ago. My dad’s family was seated at Magnolia, because they grew up with a magnolia tree right outside their window. My cousin Ashley was seated at “Ash”, and the “fun” table (as we called it) was named Poplar- a take on “popular” because I’m lame like that.

I was pleasantly surprised with the table name look, as Mrs. Snow Pea had created some beauties for me, which I was unable to print myself being a moron. My good friend Tricia made these up and printed them, and sent them to me right before the wedding. They were a huge hit. The centerpiece vases had the ribbon attached with hot glue (and I had the scalds to prove it!) the day before the wedding, and filled with all sorts of glass marbley things and glass acorns. Those were also a huge hit, with none remaining after the reception. In fact, my aunt had hers up on the table for thanksgiving!

More pics to come!

Hi Miss Gardenia!

We actually bought the place cards from Pottery Barn when they were on sale!! Then I printed the names on non-shiny labels and stuck them on. :)
