We recently had our first Bee impersonation! Whether it was purposeful or not, a reader left a strongly worded comment using the name “Spider”. It’d be awful if someone thought that Mrs. Spider had left that comment! A number of our readers were fooled, even though the comment wasn’t left from a Weddingbee account.
So we realized we have to make it even more clear when a Bee is commenting. At first we were going to put some color trim around comments from the Bees, but then BilBee came up with the idea of using the Bee icons next to comments. We took a screenshot, so you can see what we mean (or you can see it in action here).

i love it!! what an awesome feature! thanks for all your hard work bil bee!
very cool idea. I think it will also help with a lot of the past bloggers who only post every once in a while that current readers may not not be familiar with. There are a lot of readers with a “miss so&so” screen name and now it’ll be easier to see which were/are bees and which are readers.

Awesome, BILBee! Not only is it easier to see which bees are leaving comments, it also makes the comments that much prettier

I like this, but could the icons be smaller? So the spacing between the date and the comment is the same as everyone else’s?

I’m with cs…I am finding it a bit hard to read with all of the icons. Anyway to make them smaller?
Miss Flamingo - It looks like you are signed in as “MissFlamingo”. If you sign in as Flamingo, then your icon should appear! Please contact Mrs. Bee with any questions about your login.
CS/Emerald/Corn - Thanks for the feedback. It is a bit tricky, because the icons are all different heights and widths. Let’s see how it feels after a day or two to get used to the change? In the meantime, we’ll think about things we might do get all these icons of different sizes rendering in a consistent way.
this is a great idea because i did get confused in the beginning with the miss so & so that weren’t bees. and i’m another vote for smaller sizes, though i do understand your point bil bee. great work
and is it wrong that i’m a bit giddy to see my name sandwiched in the middle of the screencap? lol
