E-Pics - Baby It’s Cold Outside

December 10th, 2007 @ 12:10 pm by Mrs. Toucan

A few weeks ago, Mr. Toucan and I wandered around the streets of Boston’s North End during our engagement photo session with our photographer, Robert Mirani. I’m not sure what possessed us to take pictures in 30 degree weather (brr!), but now that we have our photos, I think the cold was well worth it! Plus, the cold gave us a great excuse to huddle really close together!

(I’ve got my love to keep me warm)

The North End ended up being a really great location for us to take photos because it provided us with lots of different backdrops and atmospheres.

We had some great urban looking photos in front of graffiti walls, like this:

In stark contrast to pictures in the park, like this:

To be honest, Mr. Toucan and I were both really nervous about having our picture taken. We thought it would be really awkward, and we didn’t know what to expect. After a few clicks of the camera, we were much more at ease and had a great time. And even better, we finally have some great photos of us! Here are some of the rest of my faves:

Now that I have all these photos, what should I do with them? We don’t have a lot of recent pictures of us, so we plan to definitely get some prints to frame. Any other interesting ideas? I want to these to get as much use as possible (but, without plastering my face everywhere). ;)

You can incorporate the pics into your guestbook! Our photog is making our guestbook for us using our e-pics, kinda yearbook style, but much nicer…a good way to use the pics and share them with people, I think!

Those are great! I don’t think you can tell you were nervous and I love the jackets. :-) You guys look like you’re having fun and are so in love!

Oh, and I like was Mrs. Lemon did: she put her e-pics on a disc and let them run in a digital photo frame during the reception (less clutter!). You could put them on display clothesline style, if it fit your theme. We used our favorite pic on a Christmas card, and on our program.

Is there any way that the Bees could have their photos hosted on the same site? A lot of the time, our work filter blocks certain websites (like xanga or some of the other blogsites) and then the photos dont show up. I think some other readers are having this problem too. I am anxious to see the photos! :)

Loveletter, sorry you can’t see the photos! I’m afraid I’m not so computer saavy so I don’t know how I can set something up so you can see the images. :( Maybe Mrs. Bee will think of something? :)

1) Photo stamps for the invitation from Zazzle.com

2) Make them into table numbers. I added “Table One,” “Table Two,” etc. to different photos and put each in a frame at each table. Let me know and I can send you a jpeg of one. kmikulis at gmail dot com

3) Print 8×10s of your two best pictures and put them in frames on display on your guestbook table. Our guestbook table also had small framed wedding photos of our parents and grandparents (and two sets of great grandparents), and an assortment of photos under plexiglass of my husband and me.

Penguin, you can marry me (I live in the great state of MA), but sorry, I’m keeping Mr. Toucan to myself. ;)

Sarah, yup, living near the North End gets me in trouble sometimes - too much good foodies!

sph, I’m really glad you can’t tell how cold we were! Though in some pictures (none posted here), Mr. T’s nose is red from the cold! (Poor Mr. T, he was colder than I was- I was wrapped up in his arms!)

Hey Ms. Toukan,
You are beautiful couple with beautiful engagement pictures. Your photographer did a great job capturing your relationship and your excitement. Also, you both appear very relaxed and natural at the pictures, which is great. Make sure you keep up that up for the wedding, so it will be easy for your photographer to take more wonderful pictures.
