I think it’s important for them to be unique to the couple.
The single most important thing I’m looking for is quality. Paper thickness, full envelope lining, and quality engraving. But being pretty sure helps too!
I think setting the tone for the wedding is so important, getting the guests excited for the big day! This can be done in so many ways. It seems like I always hear brides say they dont want to spend time and money on invites because everyone just throws them away- I disagree! I love getting the invitations and always hold on to them as a memento.
Everything has to match… im a freak like that. Therefore my invites will set the tone for my cake design, my menus, placecards favor tags… you name it!! 
Style. Something that invokes DH and my personal style and the tone/inspiration of our wedding day.
The most important thing I want in my invitations is to match my colors and theme. The second most important thing, of course, is that I can afford them!

I want pretty paper, fun designs and personality! Is that too much to ask?
The most important thing? That my future MIL likes them (trust me, not an easy task!!). Other than that, they must be simple, classic and personal.
I just want them to say ‘wow’ and to have the design carried through the entire wedding.
Unique, stylish, goes with my theme. I want the guests to realize the “tone” for the wedding when they receive them, and they should make our guests really want to come!
