One Year Ago - Part 2

December 11th, 2007 @ 2:51 pm by Mrs. Bird of Paradise

Part 1

At Ladera, a shuttle service is provided throughout the day to both Jalousie Beach and Anse Chastanet Beach. We decided to go to Jalousie beach which is nestled between the two Piton peaks.

This is the view of the waters on our quick shuttle trip to the beach.

Jalousie beach is unbelievable. The waters! The view… again!

And to the right is the view of the Gros Piton.

The base of the Gros Piton drops off 1,800 feet. This is where snorkling takes place. I didn’t go, but Mr. Bop said it was incredible.

Scuba Diving is also awesome in St. Lucia. They have certified PADI docks (one in Tikaye Village) and my husband got certified. He loved it, and got to see a lot of great stuff. I loved the snorkeling in St. Lucia.
Yay Mrs. BOP for posting more about St. Lucia!

Hey Mrs. BOP!! Ladera looks so amazing!! FI and I are still searching for the perfect honeymoon so I mentioned Ladera to him and was telling him about the amazing room you stayed in and then he got all quiet when I mentioned the 3 wall rooms….he thinks that he’d have to sleep with 1 eye open b/c there isn’t walls all around him….did your FI think of this??? did you ever feel uneasy about 1 wall missing???

Kaci- the open wall was not a problem. initially i was concerned, so we booked 3 nights at ladera and 2 at ti kaye. but once we got there all conerns melted away. ladera is 1100 feet up there is really no way for people to get into your space via the open wall. there is really no “ground” outside of that wall, yet, because there is so much lush vegetation, it doesn’t seem scary looking down. and there were no bugs. and the lack of ac was not a problem. because of the elevation there is a wonderful breeze (which we didn’t find at ti kaye since it’s not elevated like ladera) and i’m not an outdoorsy girl. and i’m afraid of heights. :)
