Wedding Blog
Well, I’m off! Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but I’m sure everyone has just been as busy and buzzin’ with activity. With working on getting a mortgage, finishing up work stuff, and figuring out random wedding details… I’ve been preoccupied!
The holidays are always a blast and I’m a little sad to be missing out on them this year. I’m heading to China (Guilin), Hong Kong, and Taiwan for the holidays. I’m very excited since it’ll be a trip with my mom, great aunt, and other aunts/uncles. Unfortunately, Mr. Canary couldn’t join me because of work. But I’m determined to make this the last holiday season we spend apart. I don’t think we’ve ever spent Christmas Day together.
But I’m looking forward to getting a few wedding errands done in Asia. I’ll be sure to blog about them once I get back! I also can’t wait to blog about things that are long overdue (i.e. my hair trial with the fabulous Stacy Pitt, hashing out ideas for favors, and my final bridesmaid dress selection!) Right now, I must focus on getting packed.

P.S. Any travel tips or great wedding vendors for any of the places I’m visiting would be much appreciated! I’ve been to Hong Kong before but never to Guilin or Taiwan.

I’ve been to Guilin before and it’s just GORGEOUS. Unfortunately, I don’t think you’re going to find any wedding vendors there. It’s a very touristy spot where they’ll mainly just have lots of knick-knacks and such. With that being said, I bought some pashminas there for around $3USD. Not cashmere of course, but still nice quality and if you’re having any part of your wedding reception outdoors in the evening, maybe you can have a few of the pashminas as wraps for whoever gets chilly. (I would also recommend going to Yangshuo by going down the Li river from Guilin and taking a bike tour around. One of the best experiences I’ve ever had)

I love Yangshuo, which is near Guilin. I went caving there (12 years ago) and it was amazing. Just walking around amid the crazy karst topography is surreal.
you are going to have a blast in taiwan. they have the most amazing little things for cheap. be sure to visit the hip taipei 101
