Weddingbee reader Angel made a great Etsy find 2 days ago! I’ve been looking to have an illustration done of me in my wedding dress to have as a keepsake and heirloom, but many are beyond my price range ($400 and up).
Etsy seller JHMdesign does custom drawings of brides in their dresses (or the dresses alone) for $80!
The artist uses a mixture of charcoal pencil and paint. The illustration is 11 X 14, and the monogram is optional. Submit your photograph of you in your dress via E-Mail and she will take care of the rest! Your custom drawing arrives in 4-6 weeks.
…I think I’ll scour Etsy for everyone now for great wedding finds and make it a regular post! What do you think?

I love the Etsy wedding blog, but I don’t think it gets updated enough for all the neat or wonderful things out there on Etsy (because the folks at Etsy are just that cool).
Oh, and I meant to add that I support an Etsy Finds post. 
How about Fifi Lapin? She’s a bunny who dresses in the latest fashion, and if you send her a picture of you in your dress, you’ll get a drawing of Fifi wearing your gown for only $40!

Also try putting an ad or just calling a fashion design school. In NYC, there’s Parson’s and FIT. All fashion students should be proficient in sketching and it might just be a difference in style. ie. more cutesy or more dramatic. I’m sure the students could use the money right now too.

Great idea. The folks at Etsy might even want to link to your posts. Etsy is a great site with lots of great items but I agree it can be overwhelming.

Over the holidays, I’ll give some local fashion schools a call and see how to go about it.
It would be great if you or some of the Etsy saavy bees could give some suggestions for gifts for family and friends for the holidays. Actually it doesn’t have to be from that site but I am at a loss for ideas! Mrs. Bee- could we see if each of the bees could give their suggestions of gift ideas!?!?!
