This B*znatch Is Back…

December 13th, 2007 @ 2:51 pm by Mrs. Cherry Blossom

To kick this lard in high gear, I told Bee to ban me from Weddingbee if I did not fulfill my duty, so here I am: reporting an abundance of excuses as to why I haven’t been posting.

First off, let me tell you, when I say I’m busy, I mean it no joke. Here is a glimpse into my daily life, and it’s not all of what I do either. I just can’t fit it all there, since my planner is itty bitty.

I carry this baby everywhere. Without it, I feel naked, lost, confused, it’s not a good thing. If you ever see me, ask me if I have it, if not, I’ll freak ballistic. Aside from that, Minna No Tabo is my mini Mr. CB that I carry around. Since I can’t talk Mr. CB’s ear off in person, I fill Tabo up with all that I will eventually talk to him about. The days, the hours, are just flying by too quickly. I can’t keep up. I didn’t schedule to be sick, but I got sick and big time. I was out cold for like 4 days over Thxgiving weekend too. You’d think I’d have to time to DIY - but nope. What a waste of time! Argh Gar Mar Garsh.

Well one of the TO DO things, we recently got done was visit Classic Party Rentals to peep out our table settings.

Here we (Mr. CB is) are in the show room … so much to choose from! Doesn’t he look enthused? You can’t tell but he was *shlap* happy *jumping for joy*

I went prepared with my mock set up, but I have to say I was a bit bummed (it looks quite bare!)…. I’m glad we made the trip though. Dude, it looks naked. I needs mo stuff, and hell for myself to do more DIY.

Imagine, the cylinder vase to be replaced with a taller one filled with cymbidium orchids in the exact color as the one in this pic …

You can’t tell but that napkin is cream cotton with satin like stripes

OR… Mauve napkins with our mahogany/cream chiavari chairs?

And what? wa-wa-what … it matches our ribbon!!! Those are our favors, sans jelly beans.

Alright now…. charger plates! It’s a must right? RIGHT? RIGHT?! Dude, I tried to convince Mr. CB, but he ain’t having it. Peep the 2nd pic, the “smaller” entree plate is 55 cents, but the charger plate, is $2.10!!! I can’t get it - it’s over $300 I can use for something else, but it’s. so. pretty! I. have. to. have. it. Yeah I ain’t getting it. * cry me a river *

You think I need more stuff? Is it boring?

The lucky thing about our venue is that it’s bare, so we get to pick everything from scratch. I love it!!!

More updates to come. What do you what to hear about next? My meet with Bee? Hair Trial? Flowers? DJ? Let me know…

I know what you mean about thinking it looks bare. But you have to remember that there will be color from the drinks and color from the food, and once people put their purses down…it won’t look bare at all!

One other easy option would be a patterned overlay over the tablecloth–something slighltly opaque with a vine-y pattern could be really lovely.

I love hearing about hair trials and flowers, personally.

(And yeah, the chargers are. gorgeous. want. See if you can scale something else back that you don’t care quite as much about–I scaled back on my CPs so I could have my chiavari chairs, and I do NOT regret it at all–those chairs were my DREAM and I don’t think anyone noticed that the CP was 10% smaller than originally planned.)

i don’t think it’ll look bare at all. just like what jay said, once you have the other factors like people, food, drinks, and flowers, it will all come together nicely. simplicity is always the best way to go.

Bluebear - sugar? no way! hahaha - that’s just me talking. LOL! Scary isn’t it?

Jay - Thank you for your suggestion! You rock! Yes - chiavaris are also my dream chairs, i know the feeling. i was going to settle for rattan bamboo chairs with cushion, it was like $1 off from chiavaris!

Miss CB - we’re also going to have chocolate colored linens, but to give it a little oomph, we’re going to put some flower petals (I’m thinking about the petite pink Lydia petals from FlyBoy Naturals). That would add pop and more depth to the table. But you have to also realize that there will be 8~10 place settings covering the table too, so it won’t look so bare. :)

Don’t forget there will also be salt & pepper, maybe butter, sugar, salad dressing and other food accesories. I live by “less is more”….so I think its perfect!

We missed you! Welcome back….

Sara - Thank you. Oh shnap, there is 9 more settings huh? Maybe I’m being a little dramatic. So long as you gals approve. It’s a gooo.

Jennifer B - Thank you too! I missed it here too. Thanks for the welcome back …. so sweet!

Wasn’t sure if you were asking for our opinion, but I like the cream napkins more than the mauve. :)

Also, I don’t know what your budget is, but if you think your “centerpiece” looks bare, maybe you can have some flower strewn around the candles like Miss Lemon did. If real flowers are too expensive, silk flowers would totally work. Like pink orchids to match what will be in the vase? And Sara brings up a good point, it will look great when all 10 settings are in place. Just thought I’d make a suggestion!

I’m sorry you aren’t having charger plates. It looks beautiful!
