Dead Things

December 16th, 2007 @ 11:49 am by Mrs. Milkshake

Here are my beloved “dead things” that I’d like to have at the wedding because I can’t imagine spending $2000+ on flowers that will die within a week’s time, and that I couldn’t even bring home across the border! I seriously walk into florist shops and exclaim, “dead things!” with great glee, to the dismay and embarassment of my BM’s. I could even reuse a lot of these pieces in the home. I adore the bell cups. So here they are - images from Nettleton Hollow, that is by no means a new topic to weddingbee.

Wow! I’ve been searching Pier1 and World Markets websites but the selection here is amazing. This is really going to help me DIY my centerpieces beforehand. Very helpful thanks!

I love the idea and certainly agree about spending money on flowers that will fade quickly. If you do want some flowers, which are a good chance to bring natural color in to your wedding, you should consider potted plants. At our wedding we used potted orchids for each table. The result was stunning and the plants continue to live (if you know how to care for them!), after the wedding.

I was at Ikea today and saw they have bundles of 130cm/71″ willow branches. It looked like a bundle about 6-8″ diameter for $14.99.
