I Heart Pale Pink and Green

December 17th, 2007 @ 11:17 am by Mrs. Peacock

A few months ago I decided to make an inspiration board. By “I,” I mean I picked out photos and Mr. Peacock put it together in Photoshop. Thank goodness he is so talented with that because I was using Word. Here is what I came up with:

I Heart Pale Pink and Green : wedding themes Myinspi

I was lucky enough to get it featured on Style Me Pretty, and I was thrilled to have something to take with me to florists and to keep in the back of my head while looking for dresses, invites, etc.

I loved it at the time, but I was having color issues and it impeded my ability to get it together. I thought about it every time I went on my favorite wedding sites and saw some amazing wedding using all burgundy or navy. I secretly love black, white and yellow but that doesn’t fit into my usual shabby chic tastes.

I decided to stick with this and bring out a little more yellow. It was all my favorite stuff- the Jennifer Behr hair pin, all the Martha Stewart inspiration, the soft and pretty letterpress.

Then in an attempt to find a little more yellow inspiration, Mr. Peacock helped me put together another inspiration board.

But I wasn’t sure the images flowed together the way I would like them to, and yet they are some of my favorites. Making this board also taught me that I need to do a better job noting where my images come from (if they aren’t from Martha)!

Finally Mr. Peacock helped me finish a new board last month and I am in love with it. I dropped the yellow and picked up a little more green.  I think it will really complement Cafe Brauer, my dress and the other accessories that I have been purchasing. There are lots and lots of flowers…

Images From: Martha: row 3, first image; row 4, first image
Ariella Chezar: row 1, middle image
Petal Play Designs: row 2, last image
Bloom Room (thank you Daisy Chain): all other images

What do you think?  Which one do you like best, and why?

they’re all great, so i don’t know which one is “better” but i definitely think that the middle one really pops the most. good luck!

I have been to Cafe Brauer (I live near by) and I think #3 will complement the “prairie” style nicely. I wish Ariella worked in Chicago! Beautiful inspiration boards and kudos to your FI for helping you!

I think I like the last one best. It has a casual elegance.

I love the third one. Just something about it that is so cozy and romantic. I think your wedding will be beautiful… I am having some brown and pink in my wedding… pink to highlight breast cancer

Your inspiration boards are almost identical to mine! I love the pale pink and green…just started adding yellow! Thanks for MORE inspiration!

I like the look and style of the third one the best. However, I don’t get as much “personality” from that one as I did with the other two.

Thank you all! I really appreciate the opinion since sometime I feel like I just grab images that I enjoy without getting a good feel for the “flow.” It sounds like that last one is the winner! I think the personality thing is the lack of faces! Maybe I should add a few more photos…
