About Mrs. Milkshake

I remember watching Spiderman 2 years ago and falling in love with Mary Jane’s wedding dress. Suprisingly, there’s only a handful of thumbnail size photos on the internet, so I managed to grab these photos off one of our blockbuster rentals (which was actually a LOT more involved than just hitting the “Print Screen” button and Ctrl+v!).

I don’t necessarily like the poofiness:

But I do love the fact that it looks like it’s made of jersey-knit (ie t-shirt) material… and perhaps when it comes down to it, the sweetheart neckline, and the billowy off the shoulder sleeves….

If you watch through the credits you may find out who designed it. Often times they’ll say “Special Thanks to…” for big designers who loan certain things.

Good luck!

Dunno if this helps, but Yahoo Answers has a take on this: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061125101510AA7E7iE

Doing a little research has me finding that the wedding dress was based on a design by the late Willi Smith. However, that may have been the actual marriage via the comic books.

It really is a lovely gown.

I love this gown! The scene where she runs through the park is an absolutely gorgeous one.

omg!! i totally fell in love with the dress after seeing this movie as well. I agree Miss Milkshake, I don’t think the poofiness could work on me as well, but I loved how the material flowed on the dress.

I have a feeling it was a “made for” the movie dress. I’m sure it wouldn’t be difficult to have one made (and you could reduce the poufiness as much as you wanted to).

What a unique dress…. I am sure a good seamstress could recreate something similar for you! I love how unexpected the fabric choice is.
