Can I tell y’all what a relief it was to finally receive the package containing our letterpress invitations? These babies were shipped from Canada and it seems they were being held somewhat captive by customs because of the holiday backlog… I had already turned into a nervous wreck thinking they would never reach me safely!
First let me tell everyone that Holly Hatam of TearDrop Weddings was a patient saint working with me long distance throughout the entire design process. She was also a true darling, including in our package one of the invitations in this floating frame. What a thoughtful gift, especially during the holiday season! (click images to enlarge)
The design for the invitations is not meant in any way to literally reflect our Monopoly theme (we didn’t want the invitation to end up looking like one for a children’s party), but we tried to keep it in the spirit of it, such as in the way that the groom is wearing a top hat, much like Mr. Monopoly does, and just in its whimsical nature (we don’t take ourselves too seriously):
We’re also including a directions card:
And our RSVP is a postcard — one that allows us to write out the number of guests per invitation/party (though I’m sure someone will still find a way to add that unwanted plus one):
Altogether, although there were some other teensy-weensy issues with the shipping and the final printing, Mr. Petunia and I are pleased with the final product! Our envelopes have been quickly expedited to the calligrapher, and I can’t wait to blog about them as soon as we receive them back: I’m sure the whole set put together will be a thing of beauty!
I looooooooove your invites! Like love-love. It’s so great that they still fit your theme with out being childish! love.love.love.
