Stress Less

December 20th, 2007 @ 11:26 am by Mrs. Onion

Stressing less is something every bride wishes she could do. Well, I got a great gift at my shower called “arOmaremedy,” which I blogged about right before the wedding.

I actually kept it in my purse for the few weeks leading to my wedding and brought it with me to Burlington. I decided to take a deep breath the morning of the wedding as I was getting my hair done and my photographer got such a kick out of it that she had to get a picture of it! It is actually very calming.

What ways do you ease your nerves when tensions are high planning your wedding or even on your big day? I know Miss Magnolia was considering running a 5K race the morning of her wedding and wondered if she was crazy. Any other ideas, small or large?

I have a small bag of lavender that I love to smell when I am feeling stressed. Lavender anything relaxes me- bubble bath, hand lotions, candles. I think I will need to have some on me! I think a long walk might be a good move, too.

Miss Peacock - we actually used organic lavender on the ends of the pews for our wedding. Such a lovely smell (and it looked quite pretty), and I got to breathe it in as I walked up the aisle! Nice.

We also had a small, relaxed breakfast in my parents’ hotel room with just my immediate family. A very laid-back start to a big, full day.

Working out is a huge stress reliever for me. Nothing gets my mind off my troubles and makes me feel as great as going to the gym.

I do few minutes yoga before I go to bed. It helps me relax. I planned to do just that the night before the wedding and when I wake up, followed by a glass of wine:-)

Yoga is definitely a relaxer - we’re planning to do yoga at sunrise on the beach the morning of our wedding. :)
